Today’s Menu: Grilled Turkey Bratwursts and Baked Fries

For Breakfast this morning I had a Jimmy Dean Simple Scramble Cup – Crumbled Turkey Sausage, Egg Whites, Cheddar Cheese. I also had a cup of Bigelow decaf Green Tea. Partly cloudy and 81 degrees out today. After Breakfast I went to Kroger for a couple of items for Mom and stopped by McDonald’s to pick up Breakfast for Mom. Cleaned the house and did laundry. Had to stick close to the house today. Mom is really sore from the fall she took. But we are very thankful she didn’t break anything! For Dinner tonight I prepared Grilled Brats, Baked Fries and Beans.

Having the new Brats I came across at Meijer last week, Johnsonville Fresh Turkey Premium Original Bratwurst. They are so delicious fresh! They are natural meat color instead of the usual white colored Brats.

I went out and started the grill. Back inside I got the Bratwursts out of the fridge and sprayed them with Pam Non Stick Spray. With the grill ready I added the Brats and shut the lid of the grill. Grilled them for about 18 minutes, turning links often.

The Brats came out incredible again! These are excellent Brats. Grilled up great, great tasting, and stayed firm after cooking. All good traits of Bratwursts. I’ve got a couple of packages in the freezer! Served them on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Hot Dog Bun and topped them with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

To go with my Brats I prepared some Ore Ida Golden Crinkle Cut French Fries for us. Like all the Ore Ida Products, they are easy to prepare and delicious. I just baked them for 19 minutes and done! Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Coke Zero to drink.

Today’s Menu: Grilled Turkey Bratwursts and Baked Fries

For Breakfast I toasted a Thomas Light English Muffin and topped it with Smucker’s Sugarless Blackberry Jam. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 85 degrees, humid, and a chance of a shower. Same weather for the next week or so. Got the cart and leaf blower out of the shed to do some yard work. Sprayed for weeds then cleaned off the deck and driveway areas. The sun is too hot and too humid to stay out any long periods. Took a spin around the neighborhood and went down by the lake for a bit. For Dinner tonight I prepared Grilled Turkey Bratwursts and Baked Fries.

Tried a new Brat I came across at Meijer the other day, Johnsonville Fresh Turkey Premium Original Bratwurst. They looked delicious so I thought I would give them a try. They are natural meat color instead of the usual white colored Brats.

I went out and started the grill. Back inside I got the Bratwursts out of the fridge and sprayed them with Pam Non Stick Spray. With the grill ready I added the Brats and shut the lid of the grill. Grilled them for about 21 minutes, turning links often.

The Brats came out incredible! These are excellent Brats. Grilled up great, great tasting, and stayed firm after cooking. All good traits of Bratwursts. I’ll purchase more of these soon!

For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Diet Mango Snapple to drink.

Bluegrass Lean Bratwurst w/ Bourbon and Brown Sugar Grillin’ Beans

Today’s Menu: Bluegrass Lean Bratwurst w/ Bourbon and Brown Sugar Grillin’ Beans

Sort of pressed for time, some family problems. For Dinner tonight I prepared some Bluegrass Lean Bratwurst w/ Bourbon and Brown Sugar Grillin’ Beans.

I used Blue Grass Lean Bratwurst which are 100 calories and 4 carbs per Brat, not bad at all for Brats. To prepare them; Just add the Brats to a large skillet and add water, until the Brats are half way covered. Bring them to a brisk boil but then immediately turn down the heat to a very low boil, more of a simmer than an active boil. Simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes, then finish off in a pan with just the Brats and a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil to get a nice crispy finish. Love this method, if you can’t grill them. Delicious, plump, and they cook up great! Served it on a Kroger Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

Then for a side I prepared some Bush’s Grillin’ Beans Bourbon and Brown Sugar. Not sure if I’ve had these before or not, but they sure are good! As all Bush Beans are. I just emptied the can into a small sauce pan and heated them until they started to simmer, and serve. Then for Dessert later a Weight Watcher’s Divine Triple Chocolate Ice Cream Bar. Love these, only 80 calories and 12 net carbs per bar!
