Today’s Menu: Turkey Brat Dogs and Beans

For Breakfast I Scrambled a couple of Eggs, toasted 2 slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 94 degrees and very humid, had a passing thunderstorm move through later in the day. After Breakfast I got the cart, rake, and leaf blower out and raked the back and side yard before it got too humid out. Did a few things around the house, running out of stuff to stay busy! For Dinner tonight its Turkey Brat Dogs and Beans.

To prepare it; I first started by preparing the Turkey Bratwursts. I used Johnsonville Turkey Bratwursts. I bought these from Meijer, which carries the the full line of Johnsonville Products, I had them in the freezer and laid a package of them in the fridge to thaw overnight. I prepared them in a 3-quart saucepan. Sprayed the skillet with Pam Non Stick Cooking Spray and added a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil. Cooked them for about 21 minutes until cooked through. They browned up perfect, one good tasting Brat! I served it on a Healthy Life Wheat Hot Dog Bun, topping it with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

For a side I prepared a can of Bush’s Country Style Baked Beans Mom’s favorite! Just open the can and empty the Beans Into Saucepan. Heat To Simmer until heated through. Love these Bush’s Beans! Brats and Beans Dinner tonight! For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Cherry Jello.

The Saboscrivner

The Saboscrivner is a librarian who writes about food in Orlando, Florida, and beyond. I was inspired by Chew, a brilliant, bizarre, food-obsessed comic book series about characters with food-related super powers. Creators John Layman and Rob Guillory introduced their saboscrivner in Chew #3 with a description: "[A saboscrivner] can write about food so accurately, so vividly and with such precision – people get the actual sensation of taste when reading about the meals [he] writes about."
