Today’s Menu: Leftover Turkey Chili Macaroni

I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea this morning for Breakfast. 77 degrees, sunny and beautiful out today! Cleaned the house today, dusted and vacuumed. Then I did a load of laundry. After Lunch it was outside to do some work. Got the leaf blower, rake, and cart out of the shed. It’s a perfect day to be outdoors! I enjoy doing yard work, good exercise and you get to be outside. For Dinner tonight it’s Leftover Turkey Chili Macaroni. Another one of those delicious One Pot Meals that is too good to not use the Leftovers! I’ve left the original post from last night below for ingredients and directions. Take Care and Stay Safe!

I tried something new for Dinner tonight, Chili Macaroni Hamburger Helper. Instead of using Ground Hamburger I chose to use Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast. The Turkey has less Calories, Carbs, and Fat, healthier and more delicious. To go along with the Chili Macaroni I had a slice of Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Wheat Bread that I topped with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Light.

So I started by frying the Ground Turkey till it was no longer pink in Extra Light Olive Oil and seasoning it with Sea Salt, Ground Roasted Cumin, and Cilantro Flakes. As the Turkey was finishing cooking I added, 1 can OF Bush’s Chili Beans – Black Beans.

As I started the Ground Turkey was finishing I got the Chili Macaroni ready to add to the Turkey. I started by adding 2 3/4 cups of Hot Water to the Turkey Skillet. Stirred the Water and Ground Turkey and added the Chili Macaroni Pasta Packet. Stirred it all together and increased the heat to medium high, heated until boiling. Covered and reduced the heat to simmer, cooking for 11 minutes. Stirred several times as it cooked. Removed the Skillet from the heat and took the lid off and let it cool for 3 minutes.

Fantastic Dish, it was Seasoned perfect, the Pasta was tender and the Ground Turkey and Black Beans were perfect with the Macaroni. Then I also had the slice of Buttered Bread. It made a really good Meal! For Dessert/Snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Snyders Stick Pretzels along with a Coke Zero to drink.

Today’s Menu: Turkey Chili Macaroni

To start this Thursday Morning off I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 75 degrees, sunny and a little humid out today. After Lunch I took my friend out to Ross, Ohio, to the Produce Stands. I bought Mom a couple of Hanging Baskets of Mums. My friend purchased some Flowers and Pumpkins. I love going out to Ross! A small town with tons of Farms and Fields. It will always be my home out there. For Dinner tonight it’s Turkey Chili Macaroni.

I tried something new for Dinner tonight, Chili Macaroni Hamburger Helper. Instead of using Ground Hamburger I chose to use Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast. Today’s Menu: Turkey Southwest Pasta w/ Baked Garlic Loaf Bread

To start my morning off I had a Jimmy Dean Simple Scramble Cup – Crumbled Turkey Sausage, Egg Whites, and Shredded Cheddar Cheese. Also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Sunny and a high of 58 degrees. We had a cold front move in with a low of 36 degrees this morning! Did a little home maintenance today. Changed the furnace filters and did some repair work on the flooring trim. Went to Home Depot a little later and and bought 5 new floor vents and replaced the old vents with them. For Dinner tonight Something New, Hamburger Helper Southwest Pasta. Tonight its Turkey Southwest Pasta w/ Baked Garlic Loaf Bread.

I came across the Hamburger Helper Southwest Pasta while at Meijer the day before. It’s New from Hamburger Helper. The box contains the Pasta, Sauce Mix, Black Beans, Corn, and Spices. I’m substituting Ground Turkey for the Hamburger the directions call for. I’ll be adding 1 lb. Jennie – O Extra Lean Turkey Breast, Water, 2% Milk, Sargento Off the Block Mexican 4 Cheese Blend, and I’ll be adding a 1/2 can of Cooked Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn. You can always add your choice of extras to it like Beans, Green Chilies or Onions.

To prepare it; Brown the Turkey in a skillet over medium-high heat 6 to 7 minutes, breaking up and stirring; drain. Return cooked Turkey to skillet. Stir in 2 cups of Hot Water, Milk, Sauce Mix, Corn, and Pasta. Heat to boiling. Reduce the heat. Cover and simmer about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat and get ready to eat! I sprinkled the Sharp Cheddar Cheese across the top when done.

Hamburger Helper has another winner! Fantastic Seasoning and plenty of Black Beans and Corn. The Turkey works perfect with it in place of the Ground Beef. Plus I saved calories, fat, and carbs by using the Jennie – O Extra Lean Turkey Breast! Another good one to have in the pantry! I also baked a loaf of La Baguetterie Roasted Garlic Oval Bread. For a Snack later a bottle of Diet Peach Snapple and a bag of Snyder’s 100 Calorie Pretzels.

Today’s Menu: Leftovers – Buffalo Italian Sausage Lasagna w/ Baked French Bread

For Breakfast this morning I just had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea and a toasted Healthy Life Whole Grain English that I lightly Buttered with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. A chilly 33 degrees this morning but it turned into a perfect Spring Day! Sunny and 71 degrees out! Got the Cart out of the shed and did a little yard work and then finished cleaning the outdoor furniture. Also still going through junk in the shed. Later went to see Dad for a bit. For Dinner tonight I reheated the Leftover Buffalo Italian Sausage Lasagna w/ Baked French Bread. I’ve left the original post from yesterday for the recipe and directions. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

I tried something a little different tonight, Buffalo Italian Sausage Lasagna. I used a 1 lb. package of Wild Idea Buffalo Italian Sausage and a box of Hamburger Helper Lasagna. Using the Buffalo Italian Sausage in place of the Hamburger. To prepare it I just followed the instructions on the Lasagna box to prepare it. The box contained the Sauce Mix and Pasta and I added 1 lb. of Wild Idea Buffalo Italian Sausage, 2 3/4 cups of hot Water, and 1/2 cup of 2% White Milk.

I just browned the Ground Sausage, drained and removed from heat. Then stirred in the Sauce Mix and hot water until dissolved. Stir in the Milk and Pasta. Returned to heat , and heated until boiling. Reduced the heat. Cover, and simmer about 12 minutes (Stirring occasionally). When the Pasta got tender removed from the heat and served! Came out really tasty! Good flavor and seasoning.

The Pasta came out tender and went perfect with the Ground Buffalo Italian Sausage substitute.I topped it with a sprinkle of Kraft Reduced Fat Grated Cheese and Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. It makes 5 servings. I also baked a loaf of Pillsbury French Bread. It turned out to be a Comfort Food Dinner, can’t wait to have it again.

Today’s Menu: Buffalo Italian Sausage Lasagna w/ Baked French Bread

For Breakfast on this Sunday morning I made a Breakfast Sandwich. I first toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin. Then I lightly fried a few thin-cut slices of Boar’s Head Sweet Sliced Ham. As the Ham was finishing cooking I added a slice of Sargento Ultra Thin Swiss Cheese. Then I also I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Outside it was sunny and 59 degrees, nice day out. They say the 70’s and low 80’s starting Monday, hope they are right! Anyway after Breakfast I went to Kroger for a couple of items then stopped by McDonald’s to pick up Breakfast for Mom. Mom went on to Church after Breakfast. I did a couple of loads of laundry for her then cleaned the house, dusted and vacuumed. Later on got the leaf blower out and cleaned off the deck and driveway areas. Before I made Dinner I went to see Dad for a bit. He has good days and bad days, was doing good today. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Buffalo Italian Sausage Lasagna w/ Baked French Bread.

Today’s Menu: Cheesy Italian Shells w/ Baked Cheese Bread

Cheesy Italian Shells w Baked Cheese Bread 008
Well it’s back to our humid and rainy pattern. Rain on and off since last night, and the humidity has returned! 90’s, humid and rain all week, but at least we had a run of 3 days of beautiful Summer days. Not much going on outside today so inside I did a load of laundry for Mom and then cleaned the house today. For dinner tonight I tried a new item, Hamburger Helper Cheesy Italian Shells. I prepared Cheesy Italian Shells w/ Baked Cheese Bread

Cheesy Italian Shells w Baked Cheese Bread 001

I purchased a box of Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper – Cheesy Italian Shells at Kroger the other day. Then while at Meijer that same day I purchased a package of Jennie – O Ground Turkey, and I have the perfect pairing! Hamburger Helper becomes Turkey Helper. The Helper box contains the Cheesy Italian Shells pasta and hearty Italian-style sauce mix. I added 1 lb. package of Jennie – O Ground Turkey, 1 1/3 cups Water, and 1 3/4 cups 2% Milk. Plus it’s a pan meal, easy clean up!

To prepare it; in a medium-sized skillet, sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and 1 tablespoon of ExtrCheesy Italian Shells w Baked Cheese Bread 005a Virgin Olive Oil, I added the Ground Turkey and cooked until no longer pink. Then stirred in the Hot Water, Milk, Sauce Mix, and Pasta. Heated it until it started to boil and Reduced the heat. Covered it and let it simmer for 25 minutes, stirring it often. Removed it from the heat and let cool for about 3 minutes and served. A fantastic combo, Hamburger Helper Cheesy Italian Shells and Jennie – O Ground Turkey! I t all creates a Cheesy, well seasoned, Pasta and Turkey dish. I always try to substitute Ground Beef with Jennie – O Ground Turkey or Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast. By using the Ground Turkey you cut calories, carbs, and fat. Plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow.

Cheesy Italian Shells w Baked Cheese Bread 004
I also baked some Cheese Bread. Took 2 slices of Klosterman Wheat Bread and topped it with a bit of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Then I added Sargento Shredded Reduced Fat Mozzarella and topped it all with a sprinkle of Kraft Reduced Fat Grated Parmesan Cheese. Had the oven preheated on 400 degrees, Put the 2 slices on a small cookie sheet and baked them until the Bread was toasted and the Cheese melted. An easy prepared Cheese bread, goes great with Italian Dishes and all Pasta Dishes. For dessert later a bowl of Del Monte Sliced Peaches.

Today’s Menu: Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken w/ Cheesy Rotini Pasta

Chicken Helper 005
Tri-State panic has settled in among the masses! Not only are they talking about that four letter word, S-N-O-W, but they’re calling for anywhere from 7″-10″ coming in this weekend! They panic at an 1″ but at up to 10″ its mass hysteria. I did venture out to pick up an extra bag of Salt for outside but no store around here has any, and the stores were packed already at 8:00 this morning. Sunny again but it was 8 degrees early and only a high of 28. I will really be happy when this cold and snowy weather breaks! For dinner tonight Chicken Breasts and a box of Chicken Helper. I prepared Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken w/ Cheesy Rotini Pasta.

Chicken Helper 001
I really enjoy the Hamburger Helpers – Betty Crocker Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken – Chicken Helper. I’ve tried a few of them now but this is my favorite by far. This really turns out delicious and it’s so easy to prepare! The Rotini and Cheese Sauce is excellent and the Seasoned Crumb Coating with Natural Bacon Flavor for the Chicken is one of the better Crumb Coatings I’ve had for Chicken. To prepare it first go ahead and make the Pasta, by the box directions. Then prepare your Chicken and you have one fine meal! The Chicken Helper box contains Rotini Pasta with Naturally Flavored Cheesy Sauce Mix & Seasoned Crumb Coating with Natural Bacon Flavor. I added the Chicken, Water, 2% Milk, Canola Oil, Sea Salt and Pepper. It all comes together for one easily made and delicious dinner. I also had a slice of Klosterman Wheat Bread. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Double Chocolate Pudding.

Today’s Menu: Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken w/ Cheesy Rotini Pasta

Chicken Helper 007

Winter has returned to West Chester, Ohio! The temps are back below freezing and it’s snowed about 2″ with more on the way. I received an email from an advertising firm that wants to use one of my posts for Ore Ida, sort of proud about that. I hear, here where I live, that they were going to announce the upcoming building of some major restaurants. it will be interesting to hear what’s coming. For dinner tonight it’s Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken w/ Cheesy Rotini Pasta.

This is the second time I believe that I’ve prepared the new Hamburger Helpers – Betty Crocker Crispy Cheddar Bacon Chicken – Chicken Helper. I’ve tried a few of them now but this is my favorite so far. This really turns out delicious! The Rotini and Cheese Sauce is excellent and the Seasoned Crumb Coating with Natural Bacon Flavor for the Chicken is one of the better Crumb Coatings I’ve had for Chicken. As all the other ones this one is very easy to make, just follow the instructions on the box. To prepare it fist go ahead and make the Pasta, by direction. I also had a couple of slices of Klosterman Wheat Bread and a Snapple Diet Peach Drink. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Chocolate Swirl frozen Yogurt.

Today’s Menu: Hamburger Helper Lasagna w/ Green leaf Lettuce and Radish Salad

Hamburger Helper Lasagna 005

The days are really getting shorter, 7:14 am sunrise and 7:09 pm sunset. Another cool day to start and a beautiful, sunny Autumn Day. I really enjoy this weather!Got out and had the car cleaned inside and out and spent the day outside. For dinner tried a new one, Hamburger Helper Lasagna. I prepared Hamburger Helper Lasagna w/ Green leaf Lettuce and Radish Salad.

I had seen the commercials about Hamburger Helper new mixes so I thought I would give one a try. I used the Hamburger Helper Lasagna but instead of Hamburger I used Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast. I just followed the instructions on the box to prepare it. The box contained the Sauce Mix and Pasta and I added 1 lb. of Jennie – O Ground Turkey Breast, 2 3/4 cups of hot Water, and 1/2 cup of 2% White Milk. I just browned the Ground Turkey, drained and removed from heat. The Pasta came out tender and went well with the Ground Turkey substitute. Quite a bit leftover so I’ll have my lunch ready for the next couple of days.

To go with my Lasagna I made a Green leaf Lettuce and Radish Salad. I added a bit of fresh grated Parmesan Cheese and a couple of Green Olives Stuffed with Bleu Cheese. I used Ken’s Steakhouse Light Options Sweet Vandalia Onion Dressing. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Double Chocolate Pudding.
