Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Vegetarian Baked Beans

Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs 006
Woke up to about 3″ or more of snow, with more on the way! Temperature wise it’s not too bad out, in the 20’s. It is Winter. For Breakfast I fried some slices of Boar’s Head Black Forest Ham and served it on toasted Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread and topped the Ham with a slice of Sargento Ultra Thin Swiss Cheese. Gave Mom a hand with a couple of loads of laundry and then it was outside to clear what snow I could off the drive and the cars. My neighbor brought over his Snow Blower to get most of it cleared for us. For dinner tonight I prepared a Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Vegetarian Baked Beans.

Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w Vegetarian Baked Beans 003

I used the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut one of the Sausage Links into to 2 pieces to give me a couple of Sausage Dogs. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked about 11 minutes total. As always they came out just bursting with flavor and flat-out delicious! I served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard.

Then for a side dish I prepared a 16 oz. can of Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans. I had tried these in a dish I prepared a while back and fell in love with the flavor and taste of the Vegetarian Beans! Only 130 calories, 0 fat, and 24 net carbs per serving. To prepare the; just open the can and empty the Beans Into Saucepan. Heat To Simmer until heated through. Love these Beans, becoming my favorite real quick. A simple but delicious dinner tonight! For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Today’s Menu: Jennie – O Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

Chili Cheese Coneys 009

Started my morning off with a bowl of Kroger Brand Bran Flakes. Tried these a few months ago and it quickly became my favorite cereal. Very good taste and is only 80 calories and 18 net carbs per serving. I also had my usual Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After that I went to McDonald’s and picked up Breakfast for Mom and Dad, their favorite not sure why. I also stopped by Dunkin Donuts and picked up a couple of Donuts for them, took a lot of will power not to by me a dozen of them to quickly dispose of! Did some house cleaning and that was about it for today. For dinner tonight it’s Jennie – O Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

I used the Jennie – O Turkey Franks. I boiled them, it took about 5 minutes and they were ready, Jennie O Turkey Cheese Coney 001plump, and delicious. I opened up a can of Skyline Original Chili and heated that up for my Chili Topping. I served everything on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun. Then for my toppings I used the Skyline Chili, French’s Yellow Mustard, Frank’s Hot Sauce, and Sargento Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese. Put it altogether and you have a prime example of the World Famous Cincinnati Style Cheese Coney! Had a small side of some Skyline Oyster Crackers with a few drops of Frank’s Hot Sauce on them, it’s a Cincinnati thing! I had an Snapple Diet Peach tea. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Today’s Menu: Buffalo Hot Dogs w/ Baked Fries

buffalo-hot-dogs-fries-007

Another mild Winter’s Day here today. Rainy but around 50 degrees for a high. But colder weather on the way starting next week they say. Had a light Breakfast of a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin topped with some Smuckers Sugarless Blackberry Jam. Not a lot going on today. Ran an errand for Mom and drove over to friends house but they were gone, back home for the day. Buffalo Hot Dogs w/ Baked Fries.

I had ordered the Wild Idea Buffalo – Cheyenne River Gift Bundle, that was delivered to me a few days before Christmas. It contained; 2 – 8 oz. Top Sirloin Steaks, 2 – 16 oz. Bone-In Ribeye Steaks, 2 – 1 lb. Ground Buffalo, 1 – 1 lb. Buffalo Hot Dogs, and an autographed Copy of Buffalo for the Broken Heart by Dan O’Brien. I tried the Hot Dogs once already, and loved them. So I’m having them again tonight for dinner.

buffalo-hot-dogs-fries-001

I used my Panini Bread Grill Press to grill the Hot Dogs on. Nice grill marks and got the Dogs done just right. The Dogs are well seasoned, nice smoky flavor, and very meaty! Served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped with French’s Yellow Mustard, fantastic tasting Hot Dog! Served it with a side of Ore Ida Simply Cracked Black Pepper and Sea Salt Country Style Fries, served these with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for dipping. For a dessert later a slice of Apple Pie, made with Splenda, that Mom had made for Christmas! Soooo Good!

Today’s Menu: Jennie – O Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

Jennie O Turkey Cheese Coney 006

Wow what a gorgeous Fall day out there today, sunny and about 70 degrees! Did a little housework, worked out, and hit the outdoors! Got the cart out and worked on our drainage problem, toured the neighborhood a bit, spent some time down at the lake and just enjoyed the beautiful day. I had planned to grill out but the tank was empty, bad mistake on my part. So it was cooking indoors and I prepared, Jennie – O Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

Jennie O Turkey Cheese Coney 001
I used the Jennie – O Turkey Franks. I boiled them, it took about 5 minutes and they were ready, plump and delicious. Had a small side of some Skyline Oyster Crackers along with a Diet Dr. Pepper that I had let chill in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Love Dr. Pepper when it sits in the freezer and ice just starts forming on the top. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Today’s Menu: Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (On Bun) W/ Baked Fries

Smoked Turkey Sausage Bun 008
Another one of those long and frustrating days around here. Spent most of the day on the phone with doctors and Hoveround. After 5 years they replace my Hoveround Mobility Chair with a new one, Medicare law. With my old doctor that approved everything retired I have to go through the new doctor and it hasn’t been easy! It’s been one foul up after another. I finally got everything worked out about 3:00 this afternoon, I’ll shut-up about it now. Had to vent a bit. Anyway for dinner I prepared a Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage (On Bun) W/ Baked Fries.

I used Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I took one of the Sausages and cut it in half. Using a medium size skillet, I sprayed it with Pam cooking Spray, added a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and heated it on medium. When the skillet was heated up I added the Turkey Sausage. I cooked it until the skin casing started to brown and then flipped it over and continued cooking for another 4 minutes. When browned and heated through I topped it with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard and served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun. Love these Sausages, plump and full of flavor! I also baked some Ore Ida Simply Cracked Black Pepper and Sea Salt Country Style Fries. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Mousse.

Today’s Menu: Jennie – O Bun Length Uncured Turkey Franks w/ Pringles Fat free Chips and Trop-A-Rocka Diet Snapple

J O Bun Length Turkey Franks 004

If you read my earlier post you know how I started my day. Pancakes, Jennie O Turkey Bacon, and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea! Man those Pancakes were good! Not much going on today, did some laundry and that was about it. Caught up on some sleep, had a case of the Phantom Pains last night that kept me up. Those always make for a long night. For dinner tonight it’s Jennie – O Bun Length Uncured Turkey Franks w/ Pringle’s Fat Free Chips and Trop-A-Rocka Diet Snapple.

I used Jennie – O Bun Length Uncured Turkey Franks. My last package of my free samples of Jennie – O Turkey Franks. I love grilling but I’m a huge fan of boiling Franks and Dogs also. So I boiled these for dinner. These are some beautiful looking plump Turkey Franks, when boiled. Fantastic taste and as they say, they’re Bun Length. I topped it with some French’s Yellow Mustard and served them on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun. Thank you Jennie – O! For a side I had some Pringle’s Reduced Fat Chips and an ice-cold bottle of Trop-A-Rocka Diet Snapple! For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Double Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Today’s Menu: Jennie – O Uncured Turkey Franks

Jennie O Uncured Turkey Franks 004
Another beautiful day out today, sunny and a high of 75! Started the day with a Turkey Goetta and Hash Brown Hash for Breakfast. Caught up on some household chores and then out on the cart enjoying the beautiful day. For dinner I prepared some Jennie – O Uncured Turkey Franks and warmed a bowl of some leftover Green Beans from last night’s dinner.

I used the Jennie – O Uncured Turkey Franks that I received from Jennie – O, as free samples to try. I had them frozen and let them thaw in the fridge overnight. We were low on Propane Gas for the grill so I boiled them in water. These are nice plump, great tasting Turkey Franks! Actually some of the best Turkey Franks I’ve ever tried. I’ve got one package left in the freezer, unfortunately I’ve yet to find a store in this are that sells these. I’ve requested them at a few stores but no go so far! They cooked up in only 5 minutes. i served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped it with French’s Yellow Mustard. For a side dish I reheated a bowl of the Green Beans we had for dinner last night. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Today’s Menu: Grilled Sweet Italian Turkey Sausages w/ Kicked Up Chili Beans

It’s been a long night and day. Battling those Phantom Pains again! It started around 3:00 am and hasn’t let up through out the day today. The pain is almost unbearable sometimes. The sad part is there is no cure mainly because no one knows what causes them. Most amputees go through these, some worse than others.

Anyway I wanted a good hot meal but really didn’t want to have to put a lot of effort in it. So I fired up the grill and grilled some Sweet Italian Turkey Sausages. I used the Honeysuckle White Brand Sweet Italian Turkey Sausages. i love these, plump and juicy and grill up fantastic! They are 140 calories and 1 carb. I served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped it with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. For a side I prepared some Kicked Up Chili Beans, another favorite of mine. I used Joan of Arc Spicy Chili Beans and added Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce, Crumbled Turkey Bacon Bits, Splenda Brown Sugar, and a few dashes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I left the full recipe at the end of the post. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Kicked Up Chili Beans

Ingredients:

1 Can Spicy Chili Beans, Brand your choice. I use Joan of Arc
3 Pieces Crumbled Turkey Bacon. You can use Turkey Bacon Crumbles
4 Shakes Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, or to taste
1/2 Cup Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse BBQ Sauce
1/2 Tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar or to taste
1 Teaspoon Ground Mustard

Directions:

*Empty can of Beans into a medium sauce pan
*Add Turkey Crumbles, Brown Sugar, Ground Mustard, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, Honey BBQ Sauce, stir and mix.
*Heat until desired temperature, and serve
