Today’s Menu: Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo

 

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 73 degrees with rain and thunderstorms out today. I had to break out the Big Breakfast this morning, I was starving! I prepared Glier’s Turkey Goetta, Simply Potatoes Southwest Style Shredded Hash Browns, a Sunny Side Up Egg, a toasted slice of Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Wheat Bread, and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Mom had the same thing except with Coffee and and a glass of Orange Juice. That Breakfast hit the spot! Not a lot to do so I did a small load of laundry for Mom. I got everything done so I got the Board Game Sorry for Mom out. She loves playing that Game! That was the day today. For Dinner tonight I heated up the Leftover Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo. I’ve left the original post from last night for the recipe ingredients and instructions. Enjoy and Stay Safe out there.

 

Gumbo is always one of my favorite meals, Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo! Plus the leftovers are just as good if not better! To make it I used a box of Zatarain’s Gumbo Pasta Dinner Mix for the Gumbo base, 1 1/2 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages (sliced into bite size slices), a bag of Meijer Brand Jumbo Shrimp and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I precooked the Sausage and Shrimp, according to the package instructions, before adding it to the Gumbo.

 

The Zatarain’s Gumbo Pasta Dinner Mix uses Pasta instead of Rice. It’s very easy to prepare, takes about 25-30 minutes. To start; I just boil the stock that’s in the packet, add the sliced Turkey Sausage to the stock along with a few shakes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and continued to cook for 10-15 minutes. Then I added the Shrimp and simmered for another 2-3 minutes. And the Gumbo is ready to serve and It turns out fantastic! Nice flavor, incredible tasting stock, meaty Shrimp and Sausage, and plenty of Pasta, makes one easily prepared hearty and delicious dish. Plus enough leftovers for a couple of lunches too, I took a small bowl over to my neighbor also. Then for Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Smart Pop – Popcorn with a Diet Peach Snapple to drink. I finally broke down and bought a couple of the Plastic Bottles of Snapple. The 1st one I had tried when they first came out wasn’t too good. These are much better!

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 67 degrees and passing rain showers out today. Went to Walmart after my Tea. Needed a few items and I bought a new rake. Back home couldn’t do much yard work because of the rain showers. Did a few things around the house. I One of my favorite Dinners tonight! For Dinner tonight I prepared a personal favorite, Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo.

 

Gumbo is always one of my favorite meals, Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo! Plus the leftovers are just as good if not better! To make it I used a box of Zatarain’s Gumbo Pasta Dinner Mix for the Gumbo base, 1 1/2 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages (sliced into bite size slices), a bag of Meijer Brand Jumbo Shrimp and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. Today’s Menu: Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage

 

For Breakfast Morning I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 58 degrees and rain all day, and all last night! Cleaned the Kitchen. Counter tops and the Microwave. That is about it for my day. I almost forgot Happy 1st Day of Fall! For Dinner tonight it’s an Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage.

 

 

I had not had this in quite a while. I Wanted something light today and a Pasta Salad sounded perfect! For my Sausage I used the Leftover Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage from yesterday. I cut the Sausage into Bite size pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage! I just heated them up in the microwave.

 

 

Then to go with the Turkey Sausage I prepared a Italian Pasta Salad, made about noon today. It always tastes even better after chilling for a while. A Light and tasty dish that includes Ronzoni Garden Delight Tri Color Rotini Pasta, Black Olives, Kalamata Olives, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Anchovies, Kraft Reduced Fat Grated Parmesan Cheese, Kraft Zesty Italian Fat Free Dressing, McCormick Grinder Italian Seasoning. Prepared the Pasta according to the box and added all the ingredients and tossed until well mixed. Then refrigerated until ready to use.

 

 

To serve, I made a bed of the Pasta in a bowl and topped it with the sliced Turkey Sausage, and chowed down! The Pasta Salad and Turkey Sausage are a perfect combination. And the Kraft Italian Dressing provides some great flavor! I also had a slice of the some leftover Garlic Bread Loaf. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Popcorn with a Sprite Free to drink.

Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries

 

For Breakfast this morning I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 91 degrees and mostly sunny outside today. Not a lot today. I did get the cart out and raked the side and backyards. We already have a few trees where the leaves are falling. Not much else going on. Kicked back and got caught up on a couple of movies I had recorded. For Dinner tonight it’s a Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries.

 

I used the always delicious Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage, one of my favorites. I cut the Sausage Links into Bun length pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and I had been wanting some for a while. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked about 11 minutes total. As always they came out just bursting with flavor and flat-out delicious! I served it on a Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Hot Dog Bun and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. I love these Smoked Sausages.

 

I also prepared some Ore Ida Golden Crinkle Cut French Fries. Like all the Ore Ida Products, they are easy to prepare and delicious. I just baked them for 19 minutes and done! Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Popcorn and a Coke Zero to drink.

Today’s Menu: Leftover Red Beans and Rice w/ Smoked Turkey Sausage and Baked Garlic Loaf Bread

 

 

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Outside we had a high of 84 degrees, extremely humid and passing thunderstorms later in the afternoon. I had to be at the Optometrist at 8:30 this morning for my yearly check-up. Everything looked good, no changes. Back home I just bummed around and caught up on some sleep. For Dinner tonight I heated up the Leftover Red Beans and Rice w/ Smoked Turkey Sausage and Baked Garlic Loaf Bread. I can’t ever let these Leftovers go to waste, too good to waste! I have left the post from last night for ingredients and directions. Stay Safe and Take Care All!

 

I had not made this in a while, long overdue! For the Red Beans and Rice I used a box of Zatarain’s Reduced Sodium Red Beans and Rice Mix. For the Sausage I used Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey and for the Garlic Loaf I used a loaf of La Baguetterie Roasted Garlic Oval Bread. Perfect Bread. I love these types of meals! I’m preparing 3 Bean Turkey Chili tomorrow! To prepare it I’ll need; the box of the Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice Mix, 3 cups Water, Extra Light Olive Oil, and the Sausage. Mixed 3 cups of water, Rice Mix and 2 tbsp. of Light Olive Oil in 2-quart saucepan until it was well blended. Brought to a boil. Then reduced the heat to low and covered.

 

I got another skillet out as the Rice was cooking, sprayed it with Pam Non Stick Spray and added a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil. Heated it on medium heat. Sliced the Sausage into bite size slices and added them to the heated skillet until heated through. Removed them from the heat and set aside until needed.

 

Simmered the Rice for 25 minutes, until the tender. Stirred occasionally to prevent the Rice and Beans from sticking. With 4 minutes of cooking time left I added the Smoked Turkey Sausage. When done I removed the skillet from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. And done ready to serve! This makes one fantastic Meal! The Red Beans and Rice is Seasoned perfect. It made plenty of both the Red Beans and the Rice. And the Sausage works perfect with it. One Delicious and Hearty Dish!

 

Then I also baked a loaf of New York Bakery Garlic Loaf Bread.! I loved this hearty dish tonight, plenty leftover for a couple of lunches! For Dessert/Snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Snyder’s Pretzels with a Coke Zero to drink.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ZATARAIN’S REDUCED SODIUM RED BEANS AND RICE

Today’s Menu: Red Beans and Rice w/ Smoked Turkey Sausage and Baked Garlic Loaf Bread

 

 

For Breakfast I prepared a Sunny Side Up Egg, 1/4 package of Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns and heated up some Meijer Diced Ham. I made a bed of the Hash Browns in a bowl and sprinkled some Sargento Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Then topped them off with Diced Ham and topped all with the Egg. I love combinations of Potatoes and Ham. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. What a Breakfast! Outside it’s 84 degrees, very humid and thunderstorms and rain on and off for most of the day. Not a good day out there. So today I cleaned the fridge and both freezers. Got rid of a few freezer items that had been in there too long. Dinner tonight I prepared Red Beans and Rice w/ Smoked Turkey Sausage and Baked Garlic Loaf Bread.

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 80 degrees, cloudy with passing rain showers out there today. We had a good shower of rain overnight but we need more rain. The grass and trees are brown from lack of rain. After my Tea I went and filled the car up with gas. About Noon I headed out to Ross, Ohio with my friend Linda. We go out there every so often to the 2 outdoor Produce Markets. They have the best Sweet Corn in Ohio grown in Ross. I picked up 3 lbs. of Half Runner Green Beans, a few Tomatoes, 6 Ears of Sweet Corn, and 10 big and beautiful South Carolina Peaches. I love those Peaches! Back home for Dinner tonight I heated up the Leftover Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo.

Today’s Menu: Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo

 

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 80 degrees, cloudy with passing rain showers out there today, we got little to none here at the house though. After my Tea I went to Kroger for Mom, she needed a few items. Then back home. Later I went to Lowe’s and picked up a bag of Small Size Creek Rocks and a bag of Grass Seed. I’m trying to get the yard in shape for the Fall and Winter Season. Not much else going on this Sunday Afternoon. For Dinner tonight I prepared a personal favorite, Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo.

 

Gumbo is always one of my favorite meals, Shrimp and Smoked Turkey Sausage Gumbo! Plus the leftovers are just as good if not better! To make it I used a box of Zatarain’s Gumbo Pasta Dinner Mix for the Gumbo base, 1 1/2 Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausages (sliced into bite size slices), a bag of Meijer Brand Jumbo Shrimp and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I precooked the Sausage and Shrimp, according to the package instructions, before adding it to the Gumbo.

 

The Zatarain’s Gumbo Pasta Dinner Mix uses Pasta instead of Rice. It’s very easy to prepare, takes about 25-30 minutes. To start; I just boil the stock that’s in the packet, add the sliced Turkey Sausage to the stock along with a few shakes of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and continued to cook for 10-15 minutes. Then I added the Shrimp and simmered for another 2-3 minutes. And the Gumbo is ready to serve and It turns out fantastic! Nice flavor, incredible tasting stock, meaty Shrimp and Sausage, and plenty of Pasta, makes one easily prepared hearty and delicious dish. Plus enough leftovers for a couple of lunches too, I took a small bowl over to my neighbor also. Then for Dessert/Snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Snyder’s Pretzels with a Coke Zero to drink.

Today’s Menu: Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage

 

 

For Breakfast  Morning I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 86 degrees and partly cloudy out today. After Breakfast I started a load of laundry and then I went to Meijer to buy some new Bed Sheets, picked up a couple more items while there. Back home I cleaned the house, dusted and vacuumed. For Dinner tonight it’s an Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage.

 

 

I had not had this in quite a while. I Wanted something light today and a Pasta Salad sounded perfect! For my Sausage I used Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut the Sausage Links into Bite size pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and I had been wanting some for a while. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked for about 11 minutes total. As always they came out just bursting with flavor and flat-out delicious! These go great with anything.

 

Then to go with the Turkey Sausage I prepared a Italian Pasta Salad, made about noon today. It always tastes even better after chilling for a while. A Light and tasty dish that includes Ronzoni Garden Delight Tri Color Rotini Pasta, Black Olives, Kalamata Olives, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Anchovies, Kraft Reduced Fat Grated Parmesan Cheese, Kraft Zesty Italian Fat Free Dressing, McCormick Grinder Italian Seasoning. Prepared the Pasta according to the box and added all the ingredients and tossed until well mixed. Then refrigerated until ready to use.

 

 

To serve, I made a bed of the Pasta in a bowl and topped it with the sliced Turkey Sausage, and chowed down! The Pasta Salad and Turkey Sausage are a perfect combination. And the Kraft Italian Dressing provides some great flavor! I also had a slice of the some leftover Garlic Bread Loaf. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Popcorn with a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.

Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries

 

 

For Breakfast this morning I prepared a Buffalo Breakfast Sausage and Diced Potato Skillet. I used Wild Idea Buffalo Ground Breakfast Sausage , Simply Potatoes Seasoned Diced Potatoes, Sunny Side Up Egg, Sargento Off the Block 4 State Cheddar Cheese, and Ortega Smoky Chipotle Taco Sauce. I love this Buffalo Breakfast Sausage, One delicious Breakfast! I also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea.

 

Rain, windy, and 70 degrees out today. We had about 2 inches of rain along with a couple of Thunderstorms. Couldn’t do anything outside so I was inside all day. Did a load of laundry and cleaned the house today. For Dinner tonight it’s a Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries.

 

I used the always delicious Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut the Sausage Links into Bun length pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and I had been wanting some for a while. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. I love these Smoked Sausages.

 

I also prepared some Ore Ida Golden Crinkle Cut French Fries. Like all the Ore Ida Products, they are easy to prepare and delicious. I just baked them for 19 minutes and done! Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.
