Chili-Cheese Nachos
Make nachos a healthy dinner when you top them with an easy 30-minute chili. Serve this healthy recipe with sliced scallions, avocado, fresh tomatoes and sour cream, if desired…………….

Garlic-Parmesan Chicken Wings
Forget the fryer–these baked garlic-Parmesan chicken wings get a crispy coating (without tons of oil) from panko breadcrumbs combined with grated Parmesan cheese. A drizzle of balsamic vinegar glaze gives this healthy appetizer a sweet and tangy finishing note……………………….

Chili con Carne
This chili con carne with ground beef is a serious crowd-pleaser, whether you’re hosting a football-watching party or just feeding a hungry family. It has a nice, beefy, beany flavor and just enough spice. You’ll be surprised that a chili that comes together in less than an hour has so much flavor. Three types of chile peppers (fresh poblanos, chili powder and chipotles in adobo) add depth and complexity. Poblanos also add some color to the chili–if you can’t find them, you can sub bell peppers of any color, though they won’t add heat. Using lean ground beef makes this chili healthier and also keeps it from being greasy. Be sure to brown the beef well for the best flavor: you want to stir to break up the chunks, but don’t stir too much or the beef won’t sear at all. Serve with cornbread and bowls of sour cream, chopped avocado, tomatoes, scallions, cilantro and hot sauce and let everyone customize their own bowl……………………

Ultimate Grilled Chicken Recipes
Fresh ideas for grilled chicken plus amazing recipes for brines, rubs, marinades, sauces and more.

Grilled Chicken Thighs with Jerk Sauce
Jamaican jerk sauce traditionally uses Scotch bonnet peppers; here, we substitute jalapeños for a milder flavor. The jerk sauce serves as both a marinade and a sauce for meaty grilled chicken thighs. This healthy grill recipe takes just 30 minutes of active time, so as long as you plan ahead and factor in the marinating time it’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or easy weekend BBQ………………….

Spatchcocked Chicken with Sweet and Spicy BBQ Rub
In this whole grilled chicken recipe, the backbone is removed and the chicken is flattened then grilled under the weight of 2 bricks–which enables it to cook quickly and evenly. The homemade rub recipe makes enough to prepare 2 pounds of boneless chicken or 4 pounds of bone-in chicken, but you can easily double or triple the recipe and store the extra in an airtight container for up to 3 months so you can have it on hand throughout the grilling season………………

Grilled Chicken Wings with Carrots and Celery
These grilled chicken wings get that wonderful mix of sweet and spicy flavors from honey and harissa. Most grills cook unevenly, so it’s important to keep these wings moving around to ensure crispy skin without burning. Traditional chicken wing sides–carrots and celery–cook right alongside the chicken for a quick dinner on the grill……………………

Enjoy this crunchy chicken at home for a family supper or take it along on a picnic to eat cold-no forks and knives required! For best flavor, shop for locally raised natural chicken and real maple syrup……..

Huli Huli Chicken with Pineapple-Ginger Sauce
“Huli” is a Hawaiian word that means to turn over. Traditional versions of this dish are grilled, constantly turning the chicken back and forth as a rotisserie would. This easy recipe is made in the oven to save you time and elbow grease. Recipe adapted from Chef Greg Harrison, Pacific’O Restaurant……..

Lemon Chicken and Rice
This easy Persian-inspired chicken and rice dish has a beautiful golden color and a wonderful fragrance. If you have saffron in the cupboard, do add that optional pinch; just a little will enhance the flavor and aroma of the dish……..

Serve with carrot sticks, celery and ranch (or blue cheese) dressing……….

Loaded Sweet Potato Nacho Fries
Bump up the vitamin A and fiber when you swap tortilla chips for sweet potatoes in this healthy recipe. Serve as an appetizer at your next party or turn it into dinner by adding chicken, tofu, shrimp or more beans for protein…….

Baked Chicken Wings w/ Baked Fries and Light Texas Toast

Today’s Menu: Baked Chicken Wings w/ Baked Fries and Light Texas Toast

Just a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast. Happy Labor Day to everyone out there! Outside it’s mostly sunny and 94 degrees. The pollen count and mold count was high so I didn’t get out much today. Really suffering with the allergies today! Got some cleaning done and that was about it for this Labor Day. For Dinner tonight I prepared Baked Chicken Wings w/ Baked Fries and Light Texas Toast.

Why not an American Favorite Food on Labor Day! For the Wings I’m using Kroger Oven Roasted Chicken Wings. I started by heating the oven on 425 degrees F., same temperature I’ll need for my Fries and Texas Toast. I took a small Baking Sheet and lined it with foil. Then sprayed it with Pam Non Stick Cooking Spray. Spread the Wings out across the sheet and baked them for 33 minutes, turning them once after 17 minutes. I love Wings, and these are excellent Wings! Served them with Dipping Sauces of Hidden Valley Buffalo/Ranch Dressing and Litehouse Light Blue Cheese Dressing.

With the oven already heated I baked my Fries. I used Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries. Like all the Ore Ida Products, they are easy to prepare and delicious. I just baked them for 19 minutes and done! Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup.

I also baked up some slices of New York Bakery Light Texas Toast. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.

Litehouse – Lite Blue Cheese Dressing

Made with 48% fewer calories than regular blue cheese dressing, this version tastes as delicious as ever. The handcrafted blue cheese crumbles and fresh buttermilk together create a taste you can feel good about. You won’t even miss those calories! Great taste with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
