Spiced Apple Tea
Full of cloves, cinnamon and juicy apple flavor, this fragrant beverage is sure to warm up the chilliest of evenings. Whether you drink it right away or make ahead and reheat, there’s no better way to close out the day than with a steaming mug of this tea.

Ingredients
2 cups unsweetened apple juice
6 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
3 cups water
3 bags cinnamon herbal tea

Directions
Yield: 4 servings
Serving size: 1/4 of the total recipe

1 – Combine juice, cloves, and cinnamon stick in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes. Meanwhile, place water in another medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat; drop in tea bags and allow to steep for 6 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags.

2 – Strain juice mixture; discard spices. Stir juice mixture into tea. Serve warm with additional cinnamon sticks, if desired, or refrigerate and serve cold over ice. (Tea may be made ahead and reheated.)

Diabetic Spiced Baked Apples Recipe
Nothing says autumn quite like apples. Requiring just five ingredients, these baked apples are a quick, easy and healthy treat, perfect for dessert or a midday snack. So heat up the oven and get ready to fill your home with the delicious and cozy scent of allspice!

Ingredients
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 45 minutes

4 large baking apples (approximately 9 ounces each)
2 tablespoons sweetened dried cranberries
2 tablespoons raisins
3/4 cup unsweetened apple juice
1/2 teaspoon allspice

Directions
Yield: 4 apples
Serving size: 1/2 apple

1 – Preheat oven to 375°F. Remove the core of each apple, leaving 1/2 inch flesh at bottom. Place cored apples in an 8″ x 8″ baking dish. Fill each apple with 1/2 tablespoon cranberries and 1/2 tablespoon raisins. Fill apples half full of apple juice and pour remaining juice around them in the pan. Sprinkle apples evenly with allspice. Cover and bake for 45 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork. Spoon remaining baking juices over the apples and serve hot or chilled.

Grilled Pork Chops with Cherry Sauce
Cherries and apple juice add a delightful burst of flavor to this sizzling barbecue favorite!

Ingredients
Preparation time: 4 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes.

12 cherries, stemmed and pitted
4 ounces unsweetened apple juice
1–1 1/4 pounds boneless lean pork chops
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Directions
Yield: 4 servings
Serving size: 1 pork chop with sauce

* Combine cherries and apple juice in a small saucepan over low heat for 15 minutes. While cooking sauce, heat grill. Grill pork chops approximately 3–4 minutes on each side until cooked through (internal temperature should be 160˚F). Pour hot apple juice and cherries into a small food processor and add thyme, honey, balsamic vinegar, and cornstarch. Pulse a few times. Add sauce back to saucepan over low heat and stir until thickened, about 3 minutes. Pour sauce (approximately 1/2 cup) evenly over cooked pork chops and serve.
