Today’s Menu: Turkey Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries
To start this day off I prepared a Breakfast Sandwich. Made it using an al fresco Chicken Sausage Patty, a 1/2 slice of Kraft Deli Deluxe Sharp Cheddar Cheese, and served on a toasted Thomas English Muffin. Also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Rain showers in the morning and a cloudy afternoon, had a high of 45 degrees. Not real active today, the weather is really messing with my sinuses. So spent the day resting and relaxing. For Dinner tonight its a Turkey Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries.
I bought a package of the Jennie – O Lean Turkey Burger Patties – 93% Lean. To prepare the Burger I grabbed a skillet sprayed it the Pam and added 2 teaspoons of Extra Light Olive Oil, heated it on medium heat. When ready I added the Turkey Burger and cooked it for 16 minutes flipping it several times. With a minute of cooking time left I added a slice of Kraft Deli Deluxe Sharp Cheddar Cheese. And done! Served the Burger on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun.
I also baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries, served these with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for dipping. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Peach Snapple to drink.

Ranch, Mushroom, and Muenster Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries

Today’s Menu: Ranch, Mushroom, and Muenster Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries
It was a fried Turkey Spam, topped with a Fried Medium sizes Egg, on Toasted Wheat Bread to start the day! Not much going on today, very humid out today with Thunder storms moving in later. Did a little house cleaning and that was it for the day. Dinner tonight its a Ranch, Mushroom, and Muenster Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.
Wanted a Burger but wanted one that I haven’t had before so tonight I went with a Ranch, Mushroom, and Muenster Cheese Turkey Burger. Of course I used my favorite Turkey, the Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast. Only 120 calories per serving and always taste fresh. I combined it with some Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix. I had always wanted to try a Burger with added Ranch Dip but never had, till tonight. So all I needed was 1 serving of the Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast, Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix, and McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn.
I started by forming my Burger ans as I did that i sprinkled some of the Hidden Valley Ranch Dip Mix on it and finished making the pattie. The amount of Hidden Valley is all up to you when you make it. I then Seasoned both sides of the pattie and began cooking it. I pan fried it in Canola Oil, about 5 minutes per side. Had a nice char on the outside and moist on the inside. Again the frying time will vary depending on how thick your Burger is, always make sure the juices are running clear from your Burger. I let the Burger rest for a few minutes and then served it on an Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Hamburger Bun and topped with Sauteed Mushrooms and a slice of a Boar’s Head Muenster Cheese. Served it with some baked Ore Ida Simply Cracked Black Pepper and Sea Salt Country Style Fries. For dessert later a Jello No Sugar Added Double Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Celebrate St. Pat’s Day the healthy and delicious way. From the Jennie – O website it’s the Shamrock Turkey Burger.
Shamrock Turkey Burger
Ingredients
BURGER
½ cup oats
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup chopped green onion
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 (20-ounce) package JENNIE-O® Lean Ground Turkey,
6 (5-inches x 5-inches) pieces parchment paper or waxed paper
nonstick cooking spray
HOT CABBAGE KRAUT
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups thinly sliced onion
4 slices JENNIE-O® Turkey Bacon, thinly sliced
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
3 cups finely shredded coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons stout beer or broth
6 slices Colby cheese
6 whole wheat or sour dough buns, split and toasted
¼ cup fat-free ranch dressing
6 large green lettuce leaves
Directions
In large bowl combine oats and Worcestershire sauce. Let stand 5 minutes or until oats are softened. Add onion, pepper and turkey. Mix until well combined. Divide mixture into 6 equal portions. Position 5-inch shamrock shaped cookie cutter on top of one piece parchment paper. Press one portion of meat inside shamrock and press out evenly to shape (3/8-inch thickness). Gently remove the cookie cutter releasing meat with your fingers from the inside. Set aside. Repeat with remaining portions of meat.
Spray large skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Place patties in skillet over medium heat. Cook 15 minutes, covered, turning 2 to 3 times and until 165°F. as measured by a meat thermometer. Always cook to well-done.
While patties are cooking, place olive oil, sliced onions, sliced bacon, salt and pepper in large skillet over medium heat. Cook 10 minutes or until onions are softened and bacon is browned. Add garlic, sugar, shredded cabbage & beer. Cook 6 to 8 minutes longer until cabbage is softened and liquid is evaporated. Reduce to low heat.
Using a 3-inch shamrock cookie cutter, cut each cheese slice. Assemble burgers spreading ranch dressing on top of each bun. Place lettuce leaf on bottom bun and top with hot cabbage kraut, shamrock shaped patty and top with cutout shamrock cheese. Serve with bun top on plate to appreciate your fun design.
