“Operation Pumpkin 2013! Oct. 4, 5 & 6” Historic Downtown Hamilton, OH.

Festivalgoers of all ages are gearing up for Operation Pumpkin 2013, a pumpkin and art festival, which will be held in downtown Hamilton on October 4-6. This free, family-friendly event is expected to draw more than 40,000 attendees. Hours are next Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; next Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and next Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
According to organizer Jason Snyder, the second-year event has added more vendors, events and attractions for 2013. There are more than 140 vendors slated to participate, with a maximum capacity of about 165 vendors.

Barnesville Pumpkin Festival
The Barnesville Pumpkin Festival has become a tradition for families and friends who come each year to enjoy one of Ohio‘s oldest and most popular festivals. Always held during the last full weekend in September, the Festival includes four days of fun-filled contests, entertainment, tastes, sights and sounds. The festival started in 1963 in the basement of the Catholic Church and has has evolved from a small street fair to a premier event with visitors attending from all over the United States. Both adults and children will enjoy harvest-inspired arts and crafts, home-style foods, entertainment on two stages, a giant weigh-in of champion pumpkins, lots of fun contests and the Giant Pumpkin Festival Parade on Saturday. There is plenty to see and do and, best of all, admission is free.

The 62nd annual event will have chicken dinners, entertainment, Miss Chick and Little Miss Poultry Days contests, rides and games for POULTRYFESTall ages, two parades, kiddie tractor pull, 5K Run, arts, crafts, flower, and photography shows, and the greatest Ultimate Frisbee Tournament in the world! Attendance: 25,000.
The Versailles Poultry Days’ Board of Directors and the Village of Versailles welcome you to the 62nd annual Poultry Days festival June 14, 15 and 16th, 2013. The 2013 Festival theme is “Poultrystock, Three Days of Friends, Music and CHICKEN”.

Poultry Days is an annual community festival began in 1952 to celebrate the area’s history as a leading poultry producer held the second full weekend in June. Arrive early to enjoy one of our World Famous chicken dinners. We expect to serve over 24,000 of these delicious chicken dinners but they can sell quickly.

The festival is always packed with activities. There are two parades, the Grand Parade at 11am on Saturday and the Antique Car & Tractor Parade at 2:30pm on Sunday. The Village will host the 32nd annual Ultimate Frisbee Tournament which is one of the top tournaments in the nation. Other activities include: Miss Chick and Little Miss Poultry Days contests, FREE Kiddie Tractor Pull, 5K Run, rides and games for all ages, Vendor Area, Cake and Egg Contests, Flower Show, Photography and Art Shows along with many other family friendly activities.

New for 2013 will be the Tour de Versailles 62 mile Gran Fondo (and 31 mile “Half” Fondo) cycling event occurring on Sunday June 16th. The Darke County Photography show joins the festival and the festival’s 5K gets a new route and becomes part of the Wayne Healthcare “Darke County Challenge”. Back for 2013 are the Bear Hollow Woodcarvers!

The Social Tent “Poultrystock” entertainment schedule will be the largest in festival history including Nashville Crush, Almost Empty, On the Radar, TRSS Drum Corp, Higgins Madewell, Pocket Change, Bushwack, Mark Cantwil, 8 Ball, and Karma’s Pawn.

Jungle Jim goes all out for our festivals, and as he says, “The bigger the better, Baby!” We’ll have more breweries and better quality BEERFESTbeers than any other beer festival in Cincinnati! That’s 350 beers from 100 different breweries – where else can you find so many different kinds of beer?

There will be brew masters available to talk about the craft and imported beers and we’ll also have some rare beers that you might not get the chance to sample again. Chosen as one of the Top Twenty Events for May 2013 by the Southeast Tourism Society and one of the Top Ten Festivals in Kentucky Maifestfor the Spring of 2013 by the Kentucky Travel Industry Association, Maifest is based on the German tradition of welcoming the first spring wines. Maifest is the first major festival of the summer for the Tri-State region. The assortment of arts and crafts and German and international foods and beverages becomes the main course to attract approximately 125,000 area families and regional travelers. Specialty and domestic beers can be found throughout the festival.

Maifest fills over SIX city blocks along the tree-lined 6th Street Promenade, Main Street and Philadelphia Street, and extends into Goebel Park. The German park-like atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for the variety of appealing food, drink and works by over 75 artisans and craftsmen. And be sure to visit the Kinderplatz, full of adventures and rides for the small children and the Amusement Midway filled with fun for the “older” kids. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you can purchase an “All You Can Ride” bracelet for just $15. Bracelets may be purchased from opening until 9 pm on Friday and will be valid until 10 pm Friday only. Saturday and Sunday bracelets may be purchased from opening until 5 pm and will be valid until 6 pm the day of purchase only.

Quality live entertainment by top local performers will spread the festive mood throughout Maifest. Great music will be featured at the Goebel Park Stage, the Festival Stage, the Main Street Stage and the Goose Girl Stage. Take your pick – German, Pop, Classic Rock, Blues or Country – it’s your choice!

New this year – don’t miss NASA’s Driven to Explore, a multimedia experience showcashing the NASA’s future plans for space exploration. As part of this unique exploration experience, visitors will have the opportunity to touch a 3 billion-year-old moon rock brought back aboard Apollo 17, the last manned mission to the moon in 1972.
