Today’s Menu: Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich w/ Ruffle’s Reduced Fat Potato Chips

For Breakfast this morning I toasted a couple of slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread and topped them with Smucker’s Sugar Free Blackberry Jam. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Then at 11:00 I had to go to my family Doctor. My last visit for my Blood Work showed a increased Sugar count. So they are changing my increasing my Medication. The last few months have really been stressful so that didn’t help my readings any. And now it looks as though I’m losing my Supplement Insurance because I’m an Amputee, which I was when I first got the policy back in 2002. Then Thursday I have to be back at the Dentist Office for Dental Work. Too much going on, the bad way in my life right now. But it’s like they say “It could be worse”. So I didn’t really plan on anything for dinner but one thing kept sounding good with no prep by me, Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich! So with the Kitchen closed tonight it was Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich w/ Ruffle’s Reduced Fat Potato Chips.

I just love Izzy’s Sandwiches! I would put Izzy’s Corned Beef up against any other. Plus with their “Lean’ version of the Corned Beef it makes it healthier also. The sandwich contains 170 calories and 16 carbs per serving (1/2 Sandwich) and 340 calories and 32 carbs for a Full Sandwich. I had the Full, as usual, along with a serving of Ruffle’s Reduced Fat Potato Chips and their 80 calories and 17 carbs per serving, I had a 1/2 serving. For Dessert/Snack later some Honey Crisp Apple slices.

Today’s Menu: The Kitchen is closed, it’s Izzy’s Tonight!

Izzy's Lean
To start my morning off I prepared 1 medium size Egg (Scrambled), toasted 2 slices of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread, and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Good Breakfast! Today was cleaning day. Dusting, vacuuming, swept off the deck and driveway area, and straightened up the shed. Later in the afternoon got the cart out for a spin around the neighborhood. For Dinner tonight, “the kitchen is shutdown for the night” Dinner tonight is from Izzy’s, Izzy’s Lean Sandwich.

So tonight it’s Izzy’s. Izzy’s is home of some the best Corned Beef there is! All their Sandwiches are delicious and they own the market on the Corned Beef. I always get their Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich. The “Lean” version of the Corned Beef it makes it healthier than most. The sandwich contains 170 calories and 16 carbs per serving (1/2 Sandwich) and 340 calories and 32 carbs for a Full Sandwich. I had the Full Sandwich along with a side of small Pasta Salad and Ruffle’s Reduced Fat Chips. To go along with it all I had an Ice-Cold Diet Dr. Pepper, 0 calories and 0 carbs. Love putting a small bottle of Dr. Pepper in the freezer for a bit, just enough to get a layer of ice forming on it! For dessert later a Weight Watcher’s Cookie and Cream Ice Cream Bar.

Looking for something light to hold you over in between holiday feasts? The Izzy’s Lean is your answer. It’s simple: Izzy’s renowned deli meat on toast, with a side of pasta salad. Add as many pickles and condiments as you like, or enjoy it plain. Yum!

Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage and Muenster Cheese Dogs w/ Baked Ruffles Chips

Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs 004
Woke up to about 2″ of snow, not much at all but the temperature dropped to the low teens with a wind chill of around 8 degrees. So after it snowed the wind froze everything, which is making some slick roads out there today.Plenty of sunshine but not doing a lot of good. Warmer temperatures on the way for the weekend though! Shoveled what snow and ice I could and cleaned off the cars of the blowing snow and inside for the day. Basically did a whole lot of nothing today. For dinner tonight it’s Smoked Turkey Sausage and Muenster Cheese Dogs w/ Baked Ruffles Chips.

I had some leftover Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage from when I made the Jambalaya so I used that for my dinner tonight. Cut the remaining Sausage into to 2 pieces to give me a couple of Sausage Dogs. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked about 11 minutes total. As always they came out bursting with flavor and just flat-out delicious! For the Buns I used Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Buns. Before putting them on the Buns I had added a Half a Slice of Simple Truth Muenster Cheese. I then topped the Sausage with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard, love these things!Ruffles Baked Cheddar
To go with the Sausage Dogs I had some Ruffles Oven Baked Cheddar and Sour Cream Chips. It had been a while since I had any of these, a very good Chip! Their 120 calories, 20 net carbs, and 3.5 g fat per serving (13 chips). For dessert later tonight a Healthy Choice Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Today’s Menu: “Kitchen is Closed”, Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich w/ Ruffle’s Light Chips

 izzys-light-cornbeef-sandwich-001

You would be hard pressed to find a more perfect Autumn day out than what today was! About 70 degrees and sunny with a light breeze through out the day! Was outside most of the day and didn’t really plan on anything for dinner and didn’t feel like cooking tonight. So that meant one thing “The Kitchen is Closed!” So it was Izzy’s tonight, Izzy’s Lean Corned Beef Sandwich w/ Ruffle’s Light Chips and an Ice Cold Diet Dr. Pepper.

Subway and Jimmy John’s are good but their not a close second to Izzy’s. I had the Full, as usual, along with a serving of Ruffle’s Light Potato Chips and their 80 calories and 17 carbs per serving. Then to go along with it all I had an ice-cold Diet Dr. Pepper, 0 calories and 0 carbs. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.
