Today’s Menu: Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage Pita Bread Pizza

 

 

 

For Breakfast I prepared some Glier’s Turkey Goetta and prepared some Simply Potatoes Hash Browns. I just love the combination of Turkey Goetta and Hash Browns. I also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. What a beautiful day today! No Rain finally, mostly sunny and 72 degrees. Well Dad will be coming home tomorrow, finally! He’s been in the hospital and rehab center for most of this year so far. I just hope he’s able to stay healthy enough to remain here. It will be good to have him home. After Breakfast I went to Walmart and then on to Kroger to pick some items up for Mom. Back home I repaired one of our outdoor chairs. Then got the cart out for the rest of the afternoon. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage Pita Bread Pizzas.

 

I used Joseph’s Flax/Oat Bran and Stone Ground Whole Wheat Pita Bread for my Pizza Pie instead of regular Dough Pizza Pie. I love using Joseph’s Pita Breads, always fresh and they’re only 60 calories, 1.5 grams fat, and 5 net carbs! But I can only find them online so I have to order them now. A huge saving of calories and carbs over using normal Pizza Crust, without sacrificing taste. I preheated the oven on 400 degrees. To bake the Pita Pizzas I used a large Cookie Sheet. To prepare them I brushed them with a light coat of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the coating of Oil browns it up just right. I then baked it for 5 minutes, just to brown it up a bit. Removed them from the oven and made my Pizzas.

 

For my toppings I used Ragu Homestyle Pizza Sauce, Jennie – O Lean Turkey Ground Breakfast Sausage, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Sliced Black and Green Olives, sliced Baby Bella Mushrooms, 2 Anchovies Fillets, and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.

 

 

 

 

It took less than 10 minutes in the oven until everything heated up and the Cheese melted.Pizza is served! Everything combined makes one delicious Pizza! And the good thing is you can load these Pita Bread Pizzas up with toppings and still not have a lot of calories and carbs, my type of Pizza! Bakes up ans tastes like a Thin-Crust Pizza For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

For Breakfast I broke out the Goetta again! I prepared some Glier’s Turkey Goetta and prepared some Simply Potatoes Hash Browns. I just love the combination of Turkey Goetta and Hash Browns. I also had my usual cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. The rain showers have returned after drying out for a couple of days. High in the mid 80’s and humid, as usual. Ran an errand for Mom and then I stopped by Walmart Vision Center to have my glasses adjusted. Then went to the hospital to see a friend of mine that had surgery yesterday, she’s doing good and should be home soon! Back home and puttered around the house doing a few things to finish out the day. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage Pita Bread Pizzas.

Today’s Menu: Deep Dish Pizza Casserole

It was a beautiful Summer Morning here in West Chester. But watching the early morning news it was a bad day out on the inter-states. 3 major wrecks had 2 different interstates shutdown this morning, slow down people and take your time! After a light Breakfast I ventured out to Meijer, went for just a few items and ended up with a cart full! Luckily I didn’t need gas, gas prices shot up over $3 a gallon overnight! Back home finished up a couple of loads of laundry for Mom and did some cleaning around the house. With everything done got the cart out for a while to enjoy the day. For dinner tonight I prepared a new recipe, Deep Dish Pizza Casserole.

 

 
To prepare the dish I preheated the oven to 425°F. Greased a 9×13 inch baking dish with Pam Cooking Spray w/ Deep Dish Pizza Casserole 002Olive Oil. I unrolled the Pillsbury Pizza Dough, and pressed it into the bottom and halfway up sides of prepared baking dish. Then spread the dough with the Ragu Pizza Sauce, and then sprinkle the cooked Jennie – O Lean Italian Seasoned Ground Turkey over the top. Cover the Pizza with Cheese and then top with Turkey Pepperoni. Sprinkle the Parmesan over top. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and the Cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with more Parmesan. And we have a Deep Dish Pizza Casserole. I’ll start off by saying this is one of those Keeper Recipes! The crust came out a perfect golden brown. And all the toppings combined to make it one delicious Pizza. Mom and Dad both said it was one of the best Pizzas they had ever had, so it’s Parent Approved!  For dessert later a bowl of Del Monte Sliced Peaches.

Ingredients
1 (13 ounce) Pillsbury™ refrigerated pizza crust
1 1/2 cups pizza sauce
2 1/2 cups of your favorite cheese (I like using a mix of provolone, mozzarella and cheddar)
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
12 whole pepperoni (optional)
1/2 pound cooked ground spicy Italian sausage (optional)Deep Dish Pizza Casserole 006

 
Directions
1 – Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
2 – Unroll the pizza dough, and press it into the bottom and halfway up sides of prepared baking dish.Deep Dish Pizza Casserole 010
3 – Spread the dough with some pizza sauce and, if using, sprinkle the cooked spicy Italian sausage over the top. Cover the pizza with cheese and then top with pepperoni (if using). Sprinkle the Parmesan over top.
4 – Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with more Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.

French Pizza Bread

French Bread Pizza 006

I had bought a lot of French Bread for Mom the other day. As they were leaving for Church this morning she asked me if I would fix her and Dad some baked French bread Pizza with it for when they return from Church, for lunch. Well I don’t mind cooking, especially when it’s for Ma and Pa!

 

 

 

 
To prepare it I’ll need the Loaf of French Bread, Ragu Pizza Sauce, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Sliced Black Olives, McCormick Italian Seasoning, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.

Preheated the oven to 400 degrees. To start I sliced the French Bread in half, then cut the halves in half, and then sliced those halves in half length wise. I then lightly brushed the pieces with Extra Virgin Olive Oil across the tops. Spread them out on a foil lined cookie sheet and put them in the oven for 4 minutes. Removed from the oven and topped them with the Ragu Pizza Sauce, Italian Seasoning, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Sliced Black Olives, Cheese, and seasoned agin with the Italian Seasoning. Put them back in the oven until the Cheese was melting and it was heated through. I was just taking them out of the oven when Mom and Dad were coming in the door, good timing! Turned out fantastic, I’ll have to keep these in mind for dinner sometime soon.

Another chilly morning, around 39 degrees. Cloudy and about 70 degrees for the day. Went to Walmart early this morning and picked up a few items for tonight’s dinner then stopped by the bank and home for the day. Got the cart out briefly, but the wind was kind of chilly so I wasn’t out long on it. Then settled in for an afternoon of College Football. For dinner tonight Pizza, a Flatout Flatbread Light Italian Herb Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni, Turkey Sausage, Olives.

For my Pizza Pie/Crust I used a Flatout Flatbread Light Italian Herb. A fantastic tasting Flatbread that has only 90 calorie and 5 net carbs! For my sauce I used Ragu Pizza Sauce. My toppings were Sargento Reduced fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Jennie – O Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage, Anchovies, Sliced Mushrooms, Sliced Black Olives, and Sliced Green Olives. Then to prepare it, it couldn’t be easier. I preheated the oven on 400 degrees. I first crumbled the Jennie-O Turkey Sausage and fried it until it was no longer pink and heated through. Put the crumbles on a plate lined with a paper towel to get what little excess oil there was left on it. Placed the Flat Bread on cookie sheet that I sprayed with Pam With Olive Oil Spray. Topped with the Ragu Pizza Sauce, then added the remaining toppings. Just bake at 400 till cheese starts to brown. And you have yourself one tasty and healthy Pizza! This is one great healthy version of a Pizza. For dessert/snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Jolly Time Pop Corn.

A little more humid and warmer today. Went to Walmart early this morning and while there bought me and Mom a Breakfast Sandwich from Subway. We had the 6″ Whole Wheat, Egg White, Provolone Cheese, and Black Forest Ham Sandwich. Makes it one delicious Breakfast, very good and filling. After getting back I finished up some laundry for Mom and then to the Hospital for the rest of the afternoon. My dad wasn’t feeling too good today. Looks as though it will be a very long process this time for him to get healthy. For dinner tonight I made a Pizza, but just not any Pizza a Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage Pita Bread Pizza!

 

 

 

 

I use Joseph’s Flax/Oat Bran and Stone Ground Whole Wheat Pita Bread anytime I can, especially for my Pizza!
