When grocery shopping; Choose the reduced or low-fat version of a food if possible – for example milk, cheese, yogurt, salad dressings and gravies. Also choose lean meat cuts and skinless chicken breasts.

Make small changes…………..

Don’t try to change all your eating habits at once. Here are some ideas and hints to start with, Eat Healthy! Try fat-free or low-fat cheese, milk, and yogurt. Also try leaner cuts of meat. This will help you cut down on saturated fat. Also try whole-grain breads, brown rice, and whole-wheat pasta. Finally load up on fresh or frozen vegetables. If you buy canned, choose low-sodium varieties.

Here’s some healthier ways for your recipes…..

* In place of sour cream, try using non-fat sour cream, yogurt or pureed low-fat cottage cheese.

* Use skim milk in place of whole milk.

* Replace heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or low-fat yogurt.
