Today’s Menu: Bacon and Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad and all of the Dads out there! To start our Sunday morning off I prepared a Skillet Potatoes and Ham for Breakfast for everyone. I used 1 package of Simply Potatoes Steakhouse Seasoned Diced Potatoes and a package of Meijer Diced Ham to prepare it. Just cook the Potatoes according to the package instructions and with about 5 minutes of cooking time left add the Diced Ham. Topped it off with a Sunnyside Up Egg and also made that morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Just love this Skillet Breakfast! Outside it’s a rainy and humid Fater’s Day out there! A bit cooler at 83 degrees but heavy rains at times. After Breakfast I did a couple of loads of laundry and that was about it for the day. Caught up on some shows I had recorded. Not much else going on. So for Dinner tonight a I’m preparing a Bacon and Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries. For Father’s day I went to Outback Steakhouse for Mom and Dad and brought back Dinner for them.

I had a few of the Honeysuckle White Lightly Seasoned Turkey Patties left in the freezer so I grabbed one and let it thaw overnight in the fridge. They are 1/4 lb. patties (4 to a package) and 170 calories per burger.

For the Bacon I’m using the Kroger Simple Truth Turkey Bacon. It fries or bakes up real easy and has excellent taste.I was going to use more of the Wild Boar Bacon but forgot to lay the package out to thaw from the freezer.

To prepare the Turkey Burger, I’m using a medium size skillet that I sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and added a tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil. Heated the skillet on medium. When the skillet was ready I added the Turkey Burger. I fried it about 6 minutes per side. After flipping the Burger I topped it with a slice of Kraft Deluxe Sharp Cheddar with a bout 1 minute of cooking time left. I served the Burgers on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hamburger Bun. Topped the Turkey Burger with some Heinz 57 Sauce and the Turkey Bacon. The Burgers fried up great and the toppings all worked well together.

For a side I baked some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. Seasoned them with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn Medley. Baked them at 425 degrees for 16 minutes. They bake up beautifully and seasoned just right, excellent Shoestring Fry! Plus they are only 120 calories and 15 net carbs. For dessert later a Weight Watcher’s Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Bar.

It seems like it rains every Memorial Day Weekend! After Breakfast I did a load of laundry and that was about it for the day. Caught up on some shows I had recorded. Not much else going on. Today’s Menu: Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries

For Breakfast this morning I toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin and topped it with Smucker’s Sugar Free Blackberry Jam. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After Breakfast I got the leaf blower out and cleaned up around the deck and driveway areas. It’s another beautiful day out here, 82 degrees and mostly sunny! Headed out to Meijer, they had some items on sale I needed. Dad did good his first day back home. So for Dinner tonight I prepared a Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries.

Time to satisfy that Buffalo Burger craving! I used the Wild Idea Buffalo Buffalo Burgers. I always have a couple of packages of them in the freezer so I grabbed one of the patties and let it thaw overnight in the fridge. To prepare it I seasoned it with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn. I then pan fried it, on medium heat, in Extra Light Virgin Olive Oil about 3 1/2 minutes per side. Buffalo gets done rather quickly due to it’s so lean. After I flipped it, I topped it with a slice of Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese and then served it on an Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Bun. Lean and delicious, love these Buffalo Burgers!

Then for a side I baked some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries.

Bacon and Cheese Bison Burger w/ Baked Fries

Today’s Menu: Bacon and Cheese Bison Burger w/ Baked Fries

For Breakfast I tried a new Breakfast Sausage, al fresco Country Style Chicken Sausage Breakfast Patties. It’s a precooked Chicken Sausage Patty, it’s already seasoned also. I heated it up in a small skillet for a total of 6 minutes a side. Heated up quick and seasoned perfect. I served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin that I toasted. The Sausages are only 80 calories and 1 carb, I’ll have to keep these in stock! Also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Well the rains have finally let up. We’ve had close to 2 inches of rain here the past 2 days. A cool morning out, 39 degrees this morning. After Breakfast i went up to the local Kroger and bought Mom a Mother’s Day Card and Roses for Mother’s Day. Back home did some laundry and cleaned the oven and cleaned the fridge out. After Lunch went over to see Dad for a while. He seems to be doing better so we’ll wait and see. For Dinner tonight a Bacon and Cheese Bison Burger w/ Baked Fries.

It just felt like a Bison Burger type of day! And a Bacon and Cheese Bison Burger sounded even better! I normally use Wild Idea Buffalo Patties for my Burgers but I’m trying a new one this time from SayersBrook Bison Ranch, 3 oz Bison Patties. I’ve tried a lot of the other SayersBrook items and all were great so I thought I would give their Bison Patties a try. So I’m using the SayersBrook Bison Patties, for the Bacon I’m using SayersBrook Wild Boar Uncured Bacon, Kraft Deli Sharp Cheddar, and Healthy Life Whole Grain Hamburger Bun.

I first prepared the Wild Boar Uncured Bacon. The slices were not as long as most Bacon Slices, perfect size to use on Burgers. It fried up as normal Bacon and tasted great! Wild Boar Bacon has a richer taste and is leaner than Pork. As usual when preparing Bacon, you have to use Bacon Math to calculate how many slices you need to prepare. If you need to use 3 slices you should fry at 5 slices, 3 to use and 2 to munch on while you’re preparing Dinner. Bacon Math!

Next I preheated the oven to 425 degrees to bake my fries and on to the Burger. I prepared it as I do the Wild Idea Buffalo Burger.I seasoned it with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn. I then pan fried it, on medium heat, in Extra Light Virgin Olive Oil about 3 1/2 minutes per side. All Buffalo gets done rather quickly due to it’s so lean. After I flipped it, I topped it with a slice of Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese. I then topped it with Wild Boar Bacon and then served it on an Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Bun. The Burger was excellent! It fried up great and its a very tasty Bison Burger.

The oven was preheated and I baked the Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn. We really enjoy the Skinny Pop – Pop Corn!

Today’s Menu: Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries

For Breakfast this morning I toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin and topped it with Smucker’s Sugar Free Blackberry Jam. Then I prepared some Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns along with frying up a couple of Jennie – O Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Had a brief morning passing shower but it went through quickly. Got the leaf blower out and cleaned up around the deck and driveway areas. After Lunch headed over to see Dad for a while. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries.

Time to satisfy that Buffalo Burger craving! And like most of the time I used the Wild Idea Buffalo Buffalo Burger. I always have a couple of packages of them in the freezer so I grabbed one of the patties and let it thaw overnight in the fridge. Today’s Menu: Bacon and Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries

To start my day off I made a packet of Pioneer Peppered White Gravy and baked some Pillsbury Hungry Jack Biscuits. The Biscuits were for Mom, I toasted myself 2 slices of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread. I also heated up some Jimmy Dean Turkey Breakfast sausage Links. Topped it off with morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Outside it was mostly cloudy and a high of 60 degrees, rain later in the day. I bought Mom some new Gnome Statues for her flower beds yesterday from Walmart. I got the 4 wheel cart out and cleaned up the flower beds and also threw down some weed killer around the bed. Later my neighbor came over and restained our wooden ramp for me and finished up around the yard for me. We are real luck, we have great neighbors all around us! After the yard work I headed up to the hospital to see Dad. He’s doing okay but he’s talking a bit out of his head at times. It’s due to some new medication that they have him on for his heart. We are really worried about him, just praying for the best. So for Dinner tonight a new Type of Turkey Burger, Honeysuckle White Lightly Seasoned Ground Turkey Patties. I prepared a Bacon and Cheese Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.

Many years ago when I started using Turkey as part of my diet I used Honeysuckle White Turkey Products. But as time went on I started using Jennie – O Turkey Products, better variety and fewer calories. I went to Walmart to pick up some lawn and garden products I also cruised through the grocery department and came across a package of Honeysuckle White Lightly Seasoned Ground Turkey Patties. They are 1/4 lb. patties (4 to a package) and 170 calories per burger.

To prepare it I first fried up the Turkey Bacon. I was out of the Jennie – O Turkey Bacon so I’m trying the Kroger Simple Truth Turkey Bacon. First time I tried it and it turned out real good. Fried up great and excellent flavor.

To prepare the Turkey Burger, I’m using a large skillet that I sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and added a tablespoon of Bertolli Extra Light Olive Oil. Heated the skillet on medium. When the skillet was ready I added the Turkey Burgers. I fried them about 5 minutes per side. After flipping the Burgers I topped them with a slice of Kraft Deluxe Sharp Cheddar with a bout 1 minute of cooking time left. I served the Burgers on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Hamburger Bun. Topped the Turkey Burger with some Heinz 57 Sauce and the Turkey Bacon. The Burgers fried up great and the toppings all worked well together. I’ll be buying the Honeysuckle White Turkey Burgers again, very good Turkey Patties.

For a side, as usual when having a Burger, I baked some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. For dessert later a bowl of Del Monte No Sugar Added Diced Mangos.

Creamy Potato Soup w/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Today’s Menu: Creamy Potato Soup w/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Foggy morning out there today. So for Breakfast I made a packet of Pioneer Peppered White Gravy. I also toasted a couple of slices of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread, fried 2 Jennie – O Turkey Breakfast Sausage Links, and my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Outside it started of foggy and from there a cloudy and dreary day, a high in the 40’s with rain on and off with a little sleet. My thumb I burnt is a mess, burned it pretty good. I have to change the dressing twice a day. Hope it heals up good but I think it will be scared up. Stayed home all day and caught up on some house cleaning. Also did a load of laundry for Mom. Everything done, spent the rest of the day watching the NCAA March Madness Basketball. For Dinner tonight I’m having Creamy Potato Soup w/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich.

It’s a Comfort Food Dinner tonight, Creamy Potato Soup w/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich! I’m using one of my favorite new foods, Bear Creek Creamy Potato Soup Mix. I really love all the Bear Creek Products I’ve tried so far. So delicious and easy to prepare. I had made a package of this for Lunch the day before, this is how I got my thumb burned. I had a container of it in the fridge so I just reheated it on medium heat in a small sauce pan.

To prepare a package of it; In a 2 quart sauce pan bring 8 cups of water to a rolling boil. Whisk in the soup mix. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper to taste and serve! Perfect seasoning, thickened up just right, plenty of Diced Potato and a fantastic Potato flavor. The package makes 8 cups and very easy to prepare. I have several in my pantry now, trying a Minestrone Soup next.

To make my Grilled Cheese I’ll be using; Kraft Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Blue Bonnet Light Butter, and Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread. I started by buttering the outside half of a slice of bread. Layered 2 slices of the Sharp Cheddar on top. Added my top half of the sliced bread, buttering the outside of the slice. I then got out a skillet, heated it up on medium heat and lightly coated it with a 1/2 pat of Butter. When the Butter was melted I added my sandwich. Grilled it on both sides until it was golden brown and the Cheese melted. A perfect meal for a dreary day! For Dessert later a bowl of Del Monte No Sugar Added Diced Mangos.

Bear Creek Creamy Potato Soup Mix
A favorite original Bear Creek® soup. Very creamy and delicious with a delicate blend of parsley, herbs and spices to give it a little kick.

Yields about 8 one-cup servings.
Try adding crumbled bacon, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese for variety.
While they simmer on the stove, you can smell the hearty goodness of Bear Creek® soups. They’re quick and easy to make and come in 15 delicious varieties. These soups have a homemade taste that will satisfy every appetite.

Today’s Menu: Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries

For Breakfast this morning I fried up some Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns, heated 2 Jimmy Dean BreakfastBuffalo Cheese Burger w Baked Fries 010 Turkey Sausage Links, toasted 1 slice of Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread, and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After Breakfast I headed out to McDonald’s to pick up Breakfast for Mom. In the 20’s to start the day but the sun came out and it warmed up to a high of 60 degrees! Stayed home all day today and caught up on some laundry, cleaning the house, and got out the leaf blower and cleaned up the deck and driveway areas. Beautiful afternoon out! Got everything done so I kicked back and watched some shows I had recorded. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries.

It had been too long since I’ve had one of my Buffalo Burgers, in fact too long! I used the Wild Idea Buffalo 1/3 lb. Buffalo Cheese Burger w Baked Fries 001Buffalo Burger.

For dessert later a bowl of Dole Sliced Peaches.
