Bread or Rolls leftover from dinner or going stale……..

 
A great way to use a stale loaf of bread or rolls is to make croutons! Cut up into blocks, fry up for a minute or so with some butter and oil and sprinkle on seasoning of choice, Garlic Salt and italian Herbs work well. Then toast in the oven! The leftovers can be frozen and used as needed.

Where do you keep your scouring pads? Believe it or not, you can keep them in a plastic bag in your freezer. That way, you don’t have to worry about them rusting, and they’ll last a lot longer

What’s the easiest way to clean a messy cheese grater? Reach for a lemon! Just rub the pulp-side of a cut lemon across a grater and it will clean off any stuck-on cheese.

Need to quickly peel tomatoes for a recipe  The easiest way is to place them in a pot of boiling water for a minute. The skins will practically fall off.

Fresh fish is a summertime treat, but fresh fish smell in your microwave is not. Get rid of fish or other microwave odors by putting a quartered lemon or a small bowl of vanilla in your microwave for a minute or two on high.

If you accidentally scorch dinner, set the pot or dish into cold water immediately. This will stop the cooking action and minimize the damage. Carefully remove any unharmed food – and don’t scrape it – then discard whatever is unsalvageable. When you reheat the edible leftovers, set a fresh piece of white bread on top to remove the burnt odor. Alternatively, there’s always pizza delivery!

Here’s a neat trick to save that last bit of wine at the end of the bottle. Freeze it in ice-cube trays, then store the cubes in a freezer bag. Use them in wine coolers and any dish that calls for wine.

To lessen your cleanup time when using a food processor, protect the lid by first covering the bowl of food with a piece of plastic wrap. The lid will stay clean and you can toss the plastic wrap in the trash when you’re finished.

Plastic wrap loves to hug itself. Avoid this by keeping the box in the refrigerator. The cold keeps the wrap from sticking to itself.

If you lost the knob to a pot lid, don’t throw out the pot. Place a screw into the hole, with the thread side up, then attach a cork to it.
