Today’s Menu: Sharp Cheddar and Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries

 

To start the day I Scrambled a couple of Eggs, toasted 2 slices of Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Wheat Bread, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. It is one hot and humid day out there! 91 degrees but with bad humidity out there it feels like 100 degrees. You can walk outside and it feels like you are walking into a sauna. Even worse tomorrow they say. I have a couple of Doctor yearly checkups this week. Stayed indoors, too hot and humid out there. For Dinner tonight it’s a Sharp Cheddar and Chicken Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.

 

I first fried the Bacon. I started by grabbing a skillet and spraying it with Pam Non Stick Cooking Spray and heating it on medium heat. For the Bacon I’m using Kroger Private Selection Double Smoked Bacon. It fries up perfect with an excellent taste. I need 2 slices but fried 5 slices. Always remember when frying Bacon use the Bacon Math. Just decide how many slices you’ll need and double it or so. Because, at least when I fry Bacon, you end up eating as much as you fry as you’re preparing it!

 

I had bought a package of the Jennie – O Lean 93% Lean Turkey Burger Patties at Meijer and had them in the freezer. I grabbed a couple of them last night and let it thaw in the fridge overnight. To prepare the Burger I grabbed a skillet, sprayed it with Pam and added 2 teaspoons of Extra Light Olive Oil, heated it on medium heat. When ready I added the Turkey Burger and cooked it for 12 minutes flipping it 3 times. With a minute of cooking time left I added a slice of Kraft Deli Deluxe Sharp Cheddar Cheese. And done!

 

Added the Bacon, Lettuce, some Hellman’s Spicy Chipotle Mayonnaise (my favorite Mayo) and served it on a Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Hamburger Bun. Just love these Burgers, juicy and delicious, and with the Sharp Cheddar and Bacon it makes it that much better! I love this Mayo. The Hellman’s Spicy Chipotle Mayonnaise is nice and creamy with excellent flavor, with a little kick to it!

 

 

I also baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries. I baked them for 20 minutes and done. Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert/Snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Snyder’s Pretzel Sticks with a Diet Dr. Pepper to drink.

Spray skillet with nonstick cooking spray or add 1 to 2 teaspoons of oil. Preheat skillet over medium heat. Place burger patties in hot skillet. Cook approximately 15 to 17 minutes turning occasionally (2-3 times). Always cook to well-done, 165°F. as measured by a meat thermometer.
* Always cook to an internal temperature of 165°F.

Today’s Menu: “Not So Sloppy” Turkey Joes w/ Baked Crinkle Fries

 

For Breakfast I made my Skillet Potatoes and Diced Ham for Breakfast. I used 1 package of Simply Potatoes Seasoned Diced Potatoes and a package of Kroger Diced Ham to prepare it. Just cook the Potatoes according to the package instructions and with about 5 minutes of cooking time left add the Diced Ham. I topped it with Sargento Off the Block Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 74 degrees, windy and sunny outside. When it rains it pours, as the saying goes! They haven’t been able to find a part to repair Mom’s passenger window that shattered, in the hallway bathroom the toilet was leaking and it turned into an all day job for the repair guy, my Hoveround broke down on me and we’ve been 2 days repairing that, and a couple of little things that went wrong on top of it. Enough is enough! I’m out a lot of money, which takes me a while to save back. None of it wasted money but money spent still the same. I sure hope it turns the other way soon! But we have our health! For dinner tonight it was a Comfort Food Sandwich! I prepared some “Not So Sloppy” Turkey Joes w/ Baked Crinkle Fries.

 

I used my favorite Sloppy Joe Mix, the Hormel Not-So-Sloppy-Joe Sloppy Joe Sauce. I love this Sauce and it’s ingredients! It’s a nice thick Sauce that’s seasoned just right. Which is why they call it Not So Sloppy, it’s thicker than other Sauces and doesn’t drip as much. The Sauce is seasoned with Spices, Onions, Green Peppers among other ingredients (70 calories and 15 carbs per serving). I’ll also be using Jennie – O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast (120 calories per serving) and Healthy Life Wheat Hamburger Buns. I normally use Aunt Millie’s Buns but they were out and I had to use the Healthy Life Buns.

 

So to prepare it; I started by frying the Ground Turkey. I used a large skillet; sprayed it with Pam Cooking Spray and added a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Heated it on medium heat. Added the Ground Turkey and seasoned it with Sea Salt, Ground Roasted Cumin, Cilantro Flakes. Stirred and cooked until no longer pink, added the jar of Not So Sloppy Joe sauce. Stirred until heated through. Served on Healthy Life Hamburger Bun. The Sauce combined with the Jennie – O Turkey is a perfect match.

 

 

For a side I baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Fries, served with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Cherry Jello. Take Care and Stay Safe Everyone!

Today’s Menu: 4 oz. Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries

 

Just a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast. 78 degrees and sunny out today! Finally a beautiful Spring Day out and on Earth Day! After my Tea I went to Meijer, still amazed at Food Prices! It’s hard seeing how big families are making it. Speaking of rising prices Gas went up 14 cents overnight. Where is it going to end? Back home it was yard work all afternoon, and loved it. Such a beautiful day. That was about it for the day. For Dinner tonight I prepared a 4 oz. Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries. I prepared Mom a Turkey Burger and Fries.

 

For my Burger I used the Wild Idea Buffalo Premium 4 oz. Burger. Same great taste and quality as the bigger Wild Idea Buffalo Burgers but these are 4 oz. Just love all the Buffalo Burgers; meaty, juicy and just flat out delicious! Preheated up a small Cast Iron Skillet that I sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil, seasoned my Burger with the Wild Idea Omnivore Salt. I then pan fried it about 3 minutes per side, and done. After I flipped the Burger I added a slice of Kraft Deli Style Sharp Cheddar Cheese. I’m serving it on a Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Bun.

 

 

I also baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries, served with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for dipping. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Cherry Jello Cup.

Not a thing to do outside, rain all day. They say we have bad storms moving in early evening. Possible tornadoes and high winds. Hopefully it will by-pass us! So for Dinner tonight it’s a Sharp Cheddar and Chicken Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.

Today’s Menu: 4 oz. Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries

 

Just a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast. 33 degrees and cloudy, the winds gave us a chill factor of 20 degrees. Had to have Mom over for her Radiation Treatment, 12 to go! The Doctor checked her today and said everything was good! Back home I cleaned the house today, dusted and vacuumed. That was about it for the day. For Dinner tonight I prepared a 4 oz. Buffalo Cheese Burger w/ Baked Fries.

 

For my Burger I used the Wild Idea Buffalo Premium 4 oz. Burger. Same great taste and quality as the bigger Wild Idea Buffalo Burgers but these are 4 oz. Just love all the Buffalo Burgers; meaty, juicy and just flat out delicious! Preheated up a small Cast Iron Skillet that I sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Light Olive Oil, seasoned my Burger with the Wild Idea Omnivore Salt. Today’s Menu: Crab Cake Slider w/ Baked Fries

For Breakfast this morning I sliced 1/2 a Butterball Smoked Turkey Sausage in half, lengthwise. Fried that up. While that was cooking I prepared some Simply Potatoes Shredded Hash Browns. I also fried up a Sunny Side Egg and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Delicious way to start the day. 44 degrees and partly sunny out today. After Lunch I did a load of laundry for Mom. She goes tomorrow afternoon for her first Radiation Treatment for the Basal Skin Cancer. It’s a very low dosage they are going to be giving her. We’ll wait and see. She’s ready to get this over. She has to go 5 days a week for 4 weeks, reason being the very low dosage. So for dinner tonight it’s Crab Cake Slider w/ Baked Fries.

 

I haven’t had these in a while so I picked up a box of them on my last visit to Kroger. I’m using Kroger Private Selection Maryland Style Crab Cakes, my favorite! They come frozen and there’s 2 to a box. To prepare them just preheat the oven to 400 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Nothing beats a fresh made Crab Cake, but these are too good to be frozen! They’re just the right size, about 3.5 ounces each, and full of flavor. Baked them for about 30 minutes and they were done. Served then on a Pepperidge Farm Wheat Slider Buns. Topped them with Louisiana Remoulade Dressing. This makes one delicious Slider! The taste of the Crab Meat and Remoulade Sauce is perfect together! If you want one flavorful Remoulade Sauce you have to try the LOUISIANA Remoulade Dressing. This sauce is incredible and is good on about anything you put it on!

 

Then I also Baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Fries, with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for dipping. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Cherry Jello.

Today’s Menu: Sharp Cheddar and Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries

 

For Breakfast I had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. December 27th and it’s 70 degrees and cloudy outside! Another record high today. I did a couple of loads of laundry today. Then I finished putting away some Christmas Decorations. Then it was clean the fridge day. We had a few expired things in the fridge and freezer. So for Dinner tonight it’s a Sharp Cheddar and Chicken Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.

 

I first fried the Bacon. I started by grabbing a skillet and spraying it with Pam Non Stick Cooking Spray and heating it on medium heat. For the Bacon I’m using al fresco Uncured Chicken Bacon. It fries up perfect with an excellent taste. I buy it at Meijer, it’s the only store I’ve found to carry it. I need 2 slices but fried 5 slices. Always remember when frying Bacon use the Bacon Math. Just decide how many slices you’ll need and double it or so. Because, at least when I fry Bacon, you end up eating as much as you fry as you’re preparing it!

 

I had bought a package of the Jennie – O Lean 93% Lean Turkey Burger Patties at Meijer and had them in the freezer. I grabbed a couple of them last night and let it thaw in the fridge overnight. To prepare the Burger I grabbed a skillet, sprayed it with Pam and added 2 teaspoons of Extra Light Olive Oil, heated it on medium heat. When ready I added the Turkey Burger and cooked it for 12 minutes flipping it 3 times. With a minute of cooking time left I added a slice of Kraft Deli Deluxe Sharp Cheddar Cheese. And done!

 

Added the Bacon, Lettuce, some Hellman’s Spicy Chipotle Mayonnaise (my favorite Mayo) and served it on a Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Hamburger Bun. Just love these Burgers, juicy and delicious, and with the Sharp Cheddar and Bacon it makes it that much better! I love this Mayo. The Hellman’s Spicy Chipotle Mayonnaise is nice and creamy with excellent flavor, with a little kick to it!

 

I also baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries. I baked them for 20 minutes and done. Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Today’s Menu: Turkey Meatball Mini Sub w/ Baked Fries

 

For Breakfast I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. What a wild weather night here in the Midwest last night! Many lives were lost and whole towns were destroyed. We were very luck as the severe weather missed us. Our temperature dropped here before the cold front came in so we avoided the tornados. This morning at 7:00 our temps rose back up to 62 degrees and by 3:00 this afternoon it had dropped to 38 degrees! I hope the bad weather is over for everyone! For Dinner tonight I prepared a Turkey Meatball Mini Sub w/ Baked Crinkle Fries. I kept it simple tonight using the Leftover Turkey Meatballs to make the Sub.

 

I’ll waste no Turkey Meatballs! I used the Meijer Turkey Meatballs leftover from the Spaghetti I made the night before. The Meatballs are good size, meaty, and have a fantastic taste and they’re 150 calories and 5 net carbs for 6 Meatballs. Plus they’re a perfect size for Hoagie or Hot Dog Buns, I used Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Hot Dog Buns. For my Pasta Sauce I had used the LaRosa’s Original Sauce. A local favorite and mine also, it’s got a perfect combination of a robust sauce with a hint of sweetness to it. To prepare it I took the Leftover Meatballs and Sauce and added them to a medium size sauce pan and sprayed it with Pam Cooking Spray. I heated on medium heat until all was heated through.

 

I’m using Sargento Off the Block Shredded Mozzarella Cheese as a topping for the Sub. You can use Hoagie Buns but to save on calories and carbs I used Aunt Millie’s Live Carb Smart Wheat Hot Dog Buns. To assemble; open the Bun up, put the Meatballs and Sauce in the Bun , top it with a few shakes of McCormick Grinder Italian Seasoning, and top it with the Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Love these Meatball Sandwiches! The LaRosa’s Sauce just seems to bring the Sandwich together! Sauce is incredible, Turkey Meatballs flavorful and meaty, and the Mozzarella is perfect with Pasta and Sauces.

 

 

I also prepared some Ore Ida Fries with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for dipping. For Dessert/Snack later a 100 Calorie Mini Bag of Snyder’s Pretzels with a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.

Then after Lunch I got the cart and rake out of the shed and raked the side and back yards. I love getting outside and doing yard work. I worked for a couple of different yard services during the Summertime. I really enjoyed the work, and still do! For Dinner tonight it’s a Sharp Cheddar and Chicken Bacon Turkey Burger w/ Baked Fries.
