Today’s Menu: Leftover – Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage

 


Just a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast this morning. Not much of an appetite when the weather is this hot and humid. Went and picked up Breakfast for Mom at McDonald’s; Sausage, Egg and Cheese McMuffin and a Coffee. Mom went on to Church afterward. Humid and 90 degrees out today. Got the cart out of the shed and cleaned up around the yard. Then got the leaf blower out and cleaned off the deck and driveway. That was about it for the day. For Dinner tonight Leftover Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. Just couldn’t let these leftovers go to waste, they are so good! Something light to eat through this heat we have. I’ve left the original post from last night for descriptions and recipe. Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

For my Sausage I used Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut the Sausage Links into Bite size pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and I had been wanting some for a while. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked about 11 minutes total. As always they came out just bursting with flavor and flat-out delicious! These go great with anything.

 

 

 

 

Then to go with the Turkey Sausage I prepared a Italian Pasta Salad, made about noon today. It always taste even better after chilled for a while. A Light and tasty dish that includes Ronzoni Garden Delight Tri Color Rotini Pasta, Black Olives, Kalamata Olives, Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Anchovies, Kraft Reduced Fat Grated Parmesan Cheese, Kraft Zesty Italian Fat Free Dressing, McCormick Grinder Italian Seasoning. Prepared the Pasta according to the box and added all the ingredients and tossed until well mixed. Then refrigerated until ready to use.

 

 

 

 

To serve made a bed of the Pasta in a bowl and topped it with the sliced Turkey Sausage, and chowed down! The Pasta Salad and Turkey Sausage are a perfect combination. And the Kraft Italian Dressing provides some great flavor! I also had a slice of the some left over Garlic Bread Loaf. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.

For Breakfast on this sunny Saturday Morning I had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Humid and a high of 88 degrees. Same old weather around here! Rain moving in this evening. Went to Meijer after Breakfast for a few items. Back home did a couple of loads of laundry and cleaned the house today. For Dinner tonight its an Italian Pasta Salad w/ Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage.

 

 

 

 


For my Sausage I used Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut the Sausage Links into Bite size pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage and I had been wanting some for a while. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Today’s Menu: Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage

 

 

 

For Breakfast this morning I toasted a Thomas Light 100% Multi Grain English Muffin and topped it with Smucker’s Sugarless Blackberry Jam. Alo had the morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Cloudy, raining, and 43 degrees out today. Very sad day, my Aunt passed away. She was Dad’s Sister. They lived in Florida and she was 91 years old. We’ll miss her deeply.

For Dinner tonight; Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage.

 

 

 

 

I had this last week and it was so good I wanted it again. So I picked up another package of Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread and Jennie – O Turkey Lean Turkey Sausage at Meijer my last visit there. For my toppings for the Pizza I’m using Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Jennie – O Lean Turkey Sausage, Black Olives, Green Olives, Oscar Mayer Hickory Smoked Bacon Bits, Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, and Ragu Traditional Pizza Sauce. I love this Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread, it tastes so fresh and bakes up perfect!

 

 

 

 

 

I first Preheated the oven on 400 degrees. Next I grabbed a small skillet, sprayed it with Pam No Stick Cooking Spray, and heated it on medium heat. As the skillet was heating I opened up a roll of the Jennie – O Lean Turkey Sausage. I cut off a slice of it and crumbled up. Added it to the heated skillet and fried Sausage Crumbles. When they were browned and heated through removed them from the skillet into a small bowl until ready to use.

 

 

 

 

 

When the Bread cooled I added the toppings on top. I started with the Ragu Pizza Sauce. Next slices of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni. Then the Jennie – O Turkey Sausage Crumbles, next the Black and Green Sliced Olives, Oscar Mayer Bacon Bits, and finally the Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Slid the baking sheet back into the oven to bake.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I baked the Naan Bread Pizzas for about 8 minutes, until the ingredients had heated through and Cheese melted. Pulled the baking sheet from the oven and let the Pizzas cool for 3 minutes. With the first bite I knew the Naan Bread was a perfect Pizza Crust! The Crust had excellent taste and baked up perfect. Then with all my toppings had some great Pizzas. Plus a lot fewer calories and carbs than normal Pizza Pies. I’ll have to get a couple of packs of the Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread and keep them in the freezer. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Coke Zero to drink.

Today’s Menu: Leftovers – Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ French Bread

 

 

Toasted a couple of Nutri Grain Eggo Waffles and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast. After Breakfast I headed back to Lowe’s to exchange Grills. The one we had ordered just would not work in the confined space we have. So I ended up buying a more expensive Grill but more compact. So they’ll deliver the new one and take back the other one sometime next week. A lot cooler out today, only in the 40’s and rain on and off all day. For Dinner tonight its all leftovers! I heated up the leftover Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ French Bread. I reheat everything in the microwave. I’ve left the original post below for description. Enjoy!

 

 

 

 

The Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta has two of my favorites in it, pasta and pizza! The box contains 1 can of Pizza Sauce w/ Pepperoni and Sausage and 1 Pouch of Rotini Pasta. I also added a few slices of Turkey Pepperoni and sliced Portabello Mushrooms to the mix. For the preparation you can bake it or prepare it on the stove top, which is how I prepared it. Add 1 cup of water, stir and mix, and simmer and you have your dinner! This came out fantastic! Really had a good Pizza flavor to it and excellent Sauce! The Sauce with the Mushrooms, Sausage, and Pepperoni provides the great flavoring. Easily prepared and makes a hearty and delicious meal. I know it’s a boxed meal, I can’t help it. It’s always been a favorite of mine since the first time I tried it!

Today’s Menu: Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ Cheesy Bread

 

 

I made a Ham and Cheese Omelet for Breakfast this morning. I used Egg Beater’s Egg Whites, Meijer Diced Ham, and Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese. I also toasted a slice of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Rain Showers and windy out today, high of 75 degrees. Not much going on today. I haven’t felt up to power the couple of days. Back in 2003 when my Cancer Trial ended I have days that I get chills and it almost feels like the flu. It lasts about 3 days, and this is the 3rd day so hopefully I’ll be better tomorrow. I don’t have these too often, thankfully! So it was a lot of rest today. For Dinner tonight I prepared Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ Cheesy Bread.

 

 

 

 

We Love this Pizza Pasta from Banquet! This is one of my favorite boxed foods, Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta. Nothing like a quick, easy and delicious comfort food. I can only find it at Walmart or online now.

Today’s Menu: Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage

 

 

For Breakfast this morning I made a Ham, Fried Egg and Toast. I fried up 3 slices of a Blue Grass Ham that I sliced. Then I also prepared an Egg Sunny Side Up. Next I toasted 2 slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread. I also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Great way to start a Sunday Morning! Rain and Thunderstorms all day also some strong winds as the day went on, high of 70 degrees. So not a lot going on outside today. Did a load of laundry and cleaned the house. Layed back and watched TV for the rest of the afternoon. For Dinner tonight; Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage.

 

 

 

 

 


I picked up a package of Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread and Jennie – O Turkey Lean Turkey Sausage at Meijer my last visit there. For my toppings for the Pizza I’m using Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, Jennie – O Lean Turkey Sausage, Black Olives, Green Olives, Oscar Mayer Hickory Smoked Bacon Bits, Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, and Ragu Traditional Pizza Sauce. I love this Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread, it tastes so fresh and bakes up perfect!

 

 

 

 

I first Preheated the oven on 400 degrees. Next I grabbed a small skillet, sprayed it with Pam No Stick Cooking Spray, and heated it on medium heat. As the skillet was heating I opened up a roll of the Jennie – O Lean Turkey Sausage. I cut off a slice of it and crumbled up. Added it to the heated skillet and fried Sausage Crumbles. When they were browned and heated through removed them from the skillet into a small bowl until ready to use.

 

 

 

 

 

When the Bread cooled I added the toppings on top. I started with the Ragu Pizza Sauce. Next slices of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni. Then the Jennie – O Turkey Sausage Crumbles, next the Black and Green Sliced Olives, Oscar Mayer Bacon Bits, and finally the Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Slid the baking sheet back into the oven to bake.

 

 

 

 

 

I baked the Naan Bread Pizzas for about 8 minutes, until the ingredients had heated through and Cheese melted. Pulled the baking sheet from the oven and let the Pizzas cool for 3 minutes. With the first bite I knew the Naan Bread was a perfect Pizza Crust! The Crust had excellent taste and baked up perfect. Then with all my toppings had some great Pizzas. Plus a lot fewer calories and carbs than normal Pizza Pies. I’ll have to get a couple of packs of the Stonefire Mini Naan Ancient Grain Bread and keep them in the freezer. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Sprite Free to drink

Today’s Menu: Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage

 

 

 

 

For Breakfast this morning I made a Ham and Cheese Egg White Omelette. I used Meijer Diced Ham, Sagento Off the Block Shredded Mozzarella, Egg Beater’s Egg Whites, Ortega Smoked Chipotle Taco Sauce. I topped the Omelette with the Taco Sauce and a sprinkle of the Cheese. I also had a slice of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread and a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. 48 degrees and cloudy all day. After I had Breakfast I went to McDonald’s and picked up Breakfast for Mom, she loves those Golden Arches Breakfast Sandwiches. Back home did a few things around the house. Cleaned and straightened the pantry and replaced the brushes on the vacuum. For Dinner tonight; Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and  Turkey Sausage.

Today’s Menu: Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ Cheesy Bread

 

 

 

I Scrambled a couple of Eggs and toasted a couple of slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Wow, one bitter cold morning out there! About 8 degrees but with a wind chill of minus 6 degrees! For the day it was 22 degrees and sunny. After Lunch I ran a couple of errands, got gas and went to the ATM. Not much else going on. For Dinner tonight I prepared Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta w/ Cheesy Bread.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We Love this Pizza Pasta from Banquet! This is one of my favorite boxed foods, Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta. Nothing like a quick, easy and delicious comfort food. I can only find it at Walmart or online now.

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway it’s got two of my favorites in it, pasta and pizza! The box contains 1 can of Pizza Sauce w/ Pepperoni and Sausage and 1 Pouch of Rotini Pasta. I also added a few slices of Turkey Pepperoni and sliced Portabello Mushrooms to the mix. For the preparation you can bake it or prepare it on the stove top, which is how I prepared it. Add 1 cup of water, stir and mix, and simmer and you have your dinner! This came out fantastic! Really had a good Pizza flavor to it and excellent Sauce! The Sauce with the Mushrooms, Sausage, and Pepperoni provides the great flavoring. Easily prepared and makes a hearty and delicious meal. I know it’s a boxed meal, I can’t help it. It’s always been a favorite of mine since the first time I tried it!

 

 

 

 

 

Along with the Pizza Pasta I also prepared some Baked Cheesy Bread. Another easy one, using Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread, Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. Just Butter the Bread and add your Cheese on top. Then bake on 400 degrees until the Bread is toasted and Cheese is melted. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Diet Dr. Pepper to drink.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Banquet Homestyle Bakes Pizza Pasta

Today’s Menu: Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Turkey Pepperoni and Turkey Sausage Pizza

 

 

Tried a new recipe for Breakfast this morning, Baked Diced Potato Breakfast Skillet. I prepare Diced Potatoes and Ham Skillet but never this way. I preheat the oven on 400 degrees. I used the Cast Iron Skillet and prepared a package of Simply Potatoes Steak House Seasoned Diced Potatoes. Cooked them for 16 minutes, flipping them over several times. Removed the Skillet from the heat. Then with the back of a spoon, made 2 indention in the potatoes and cracked an egg into each well. Baked at 400 degrees for 11 minutes until egg whites were completely set and yolks begin to thicken but are not hard. Took it out of the oven and sprinkled with Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Put it back in the oven and baked it 1 minute longer until the cheese was melted. It came out delicious! Mom even had it instead of her usual McDonald’s.

 

 

 

 

It’s 51 degrees and partly cloudy out today. Great weather to be late December! I seen the long range forecast and most days are in the 40’s and 50’s. Hopefully they are right. Cleaned the house this afternoon, dusted and ran the vacuumed. For Dinner tonight; Ancient Grain Mini Naan Bread Pizza – Turkey Pepperoni and Lean Turkey Sausage.

The oven was heated up and I got the Naan Bread ready. I used a small baking sheet, lined it with foil, and sprayed it Pam Cooking Spray. I lined the 4 Naan Breads up on the baking sheet. I then brushed a light coat of Extra Virgin Olive oil on the top of them. I then baked then for about 2 minutes. Pulled the sheet out of the oven and let the Naan Bread cool for 5 minutes.

Then the Jennie – O Turkey Sausage Crumbles, next the Black and Green Sliced Olives, Oscar Mayer Bacon Bits, and finally the Sargento Shredded Mozzarella Cheese. The Naan Bread is 150 calories and 21 net carbs per serving which is 1 Naan Bread. Mom really enjoyed them, so its Parent Approved! For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.
