Today’s Menu: “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joes w/ Baked Crinkle Fries

For Breakfast to start this Wednesday off I Poached an Egg and served it on a toasted Thomas Light 100% Multi Grain English Muffin. Had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea to drink. 48 degrees out today but rain on and off all day. But that’s a good thing, it’s melting the snow! Not a lot going on today so I did a few things around the house and grabbed a push broom and swept the driveway. We used a lot of salt out there due to the ice. For dinner tonight I prepared “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joes w/ Baked Crinkle Fries.

It’s Sloppy Joe Night tonight for dinner! We haven’t had these in a long time, and they really sounded good! A delicious and a super easy meal to make. To make the Sloppy Joes I used a 1 lb. package of Wild Idea Buffalo Ground Round, 1 jar of Hormel Not So Sloppy Joe Sauce, and Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calories Whole GrainHamburger Buns. Using Buffalo, or Bison, instead of Beef will give your Sloppy Joe a deeper and richer flavor.

Used a large skillet to brown the Buffalo in I seasoned it with Morton’s Salt Substitute, Ground Black Pepper, and Roasted Ground Cumin. After the Buffalo was browned and no longer pink I added the jar of Not So Sloppy Joe Sauce stirring and making sure the Sauce and Buffalo was well mixed. Simmer until it’s warm, and served. I love the Hormel Not So Sloppy Joe Sauce. It’s a good thick sauce well seasoned with Spices, Onions, Green Peppers among other ingredients (70 calories and 15 carbs per serving). I served them on the Kroger Wheat Bun. Another delicious dish using Wild Idea Buffalo. For a side I baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Fries, with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup for the Fries. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Richer and Thicker and Far From Ordinary

Not-So-Sloppy-Joe® sloppy joe sauce is as distinctive as its name. Not-So-Sloppy-Joe® sloppy joe sauce has a hint of barbecue flavor and is richer and thicker than other sloppy joe sauces.

Since its beginning in 1985, there’s been one very graphic way to show the thick and rich texture of Not-So-Sloppy-Joe® sloppy joe sauce: the “drip test.” When you hold up a sloppy joe made with Not-So-Sloppy-Joe® sloppy joe sauce, there are no drips. It’s that rich and thick.

“Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joe's w Baked Crinkle Fries 011
Started my morning off by making a Breakfast Sandwich. Toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin and as that toasted I fried up some Boar’s Head Deluxe Ham and as that was finishing I took a slice of Sargento Swiss Cheese and layered that on to top of the Ham while in the skillet. Love these English Muffin Breakfast Sandwiches! Heat, humidity, and showers throughout the day, seems to a holding pattern. We got a whole lot of rain overnight and into today. Helped out Mom on a couple of loads of laundry. Then had to do some minor repair on the Hoveround. For Dinner tonight I prepared some “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joe’s w/ Baked Crinkle Fries.

Today’s Menu: “Not so Sloppy” Buffalo Joes w/ Baked Steak Fries

Another sunny and beautiful day outside again. As I said sunny and a high in the low 60’s! We have rain moving in for a couple of days but still highs in 50’s. Hopefully we have seen the last of Old Man WinterNot So Sloppy Buffalo Joes 004, but I’ve seen it snow around here in April, one time the Red’s Opening Day in April was cancelled because of snow. Went to Costco around 10:00, when they opened. Always best to get there as they open if you use and electric shopping cart to get around, so you can get one and one that is fully charged. I bought some cases of Canned Green Beans, Baked Beans, and Corn. With a 1/2 case of Spaghetti, LaRosa Pasta Sauce, and a case of Instant Potatoes. Purchased all of it for our Church which with other area Churches feed the homeless and needy. Love to help out all I can. I also bought a case of Green Beans for a local shelter here in West Chester and dropped them off. For myself I purchased some Nature Made Supplements and a large Family Pack of Pork Lon Bone-In Chops. Some beautiful and big Chops, can’t wait to have one! For my dinner tonight it’s “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joes w/ Baked Steak Fries.

Not So Sloppy Joes and Fries 009

The mornings and days are getting cooler and cooler, about 34 degrees this morning and a cold wind blowing most of the day. They delivered my new Hoveround Mobility Chair this morning. Being an left leg amputee I’m not sure how it would be without my Hoveround! It’s a lifesaver for me. Ran an errand for Mom and back home for the afternoon. For dinner tonight a favorite of mine, “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joe w/ Baked Fries.

Buffalo makes a great Sloppy Joe Sandwich. I served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun with a side of Ore Ida Simply Cracked Black Pepper and Sea Salt Country Style Fries. Plenty of leftovers for Sandwiches for Lunch. For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Buffalo Sloppy Joes Baked fries 004

Another one of those long days around here today. i made me and Mom Breakfast and then I had to go the store for a few items and back home, here is where it starts to wrong! Mom had left to go to Church and then to see Dad at rehab center. So I unloaded the groceries and put them away and went in the spare room and did my daily exercises. Went back to my Hoveround and the tire was flat! So I got my walker and was going for the phone to call my neighbor to give me a hand to change the tire, and I tripped and fell. Banged my head pretty good on the wall and slightly twisted my knee. Finally managed to call my neighbor and he came over to change the tire, luckily I had a couple of older tires that were still usable. The knee aches a bit but everything back to normal. For dinner tonight I prepared “Not So Sloppy” Buffalo Joe w/ Baked Fries.
