Today’s Menu: Baked Ham and Swiss Sub w/ Baked Fries

 

 

A delicious hot Breakfast for a cold Winter’s Morning! I prepared my Skillet Potatoes and Ham Breakfast Skillet. I used 1 package of Simply Potatoes Steakhouse Seasoned Diced Potatoes and a package of Meijer Diced Ham. Just cooked the Potatoes according to the package instructions and with about 5 minutes of cooking time left add the Diced Ham. I topped it with Sargento Reduced Fat Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese and a Fried Egg Sunnyside Up. And Breakfast is served! Had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Another cold morning out there again, 12 degrees! 44 degrees and partly sunny for the day.After Breakfast I went to Menard’s, I’m looking for a good Battery Operated Drill and Screwdriver. Afterward I stopped by Kroger to pick up a prescription for Mom. Back home cleaned the fridge and microwave. For Dinner tonight its a Baked Ham and Swiss Sub w/ Baked Fries.

I hadn’t made a Baked Ham and Swiss Sub in a while and it sure sounded good! So for my Sub I’ll need; Kroger 100% Whole Grain Mini Sub Buns, Boar’s Head Sweet Sliced Ham, 2 Slices Kroger Brand Swiss Cheese, Kraft Light Mayo w/ Olive Oil, and Kraft Fat Free Zesty Italian Dressing.

 

 

 

 

To make the Sub I took the bottom half of the Bun and layered it the Mayo and a couple of slices of Swiss Cheese. Then layered it with the Ham, a drizzle of the Italian Dressing, and topped it with the top half of the Sub Bun. Last, I drizzled more of the Italian Dressing and some McCormick Sea Salt over to of it.

 

 

 

 

I had already preheated the oven to 400 degrees, I then laid the Sub on a small baking sheet and baked it for about 12 minutes. Took it out and the Sub was a light golden brown and the Cheese was melted. Love these Baked Ham and Swiss Subs!

 

 

 

 

To go with Hoagie I baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries, served with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding.

Easy Turkey Meatball Subs
Super simple, super kid-friendly and super delicious, this weeknight dinner recipe proves that you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to make a great meatball sandwich. Under 500 calories per serving!

INGREDIENTS
12 JENNIE-O® Fully Cooked Italian Style Turkey Meatballs, halved
1 cup pasta sauce
4 slices Provolone cheese, halved
4 hoagie buns, split and toasted
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS
1) Heat meatballs according to package directions.
2) In large skillet, heat pasta sauce 2 to 3 minutes or until hot. Add meatballs; toss to combine.
3) Place Provolone cheese in each hoagie bun. Add meatball mixture.
4) Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
CONSUMER OVEN:

Another cool day out there, low 60’s and cloudy. A lot of rain coming in tonight and most of the day Saturday. Had a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin topped with Smucker’s Sugarless Blackberry Jam. After my morning workout had to go to Kroger for some Hoagie Buns and a couple of items I’ll need to make tonight’s dinner. Back home had to move some items in the living room, having the carpets cleaned today. We usually have it done once a year and I thought I would get it done now while Dad is in the rehab center. After that did a small load of laundry for Mom. For dinner tonight I prepared a Baked Ham, Beef Salami, and Swiss Hoagie w/ Baked Fries.

To make the sandwich I’ll need; Kroger 100% Whole Wheat Hoagie Rolls, Boar’s Head Black Forest Smoked Ham, Boar’s Head Beef Salami, Sargento Ultra Thin Baby Swiss Cheese, Blue Bonnet Light Butter (melted), Onion Powder, Worcestershire Sauce, Ken’s Steakhouse Light Poppy Seed Dressing, and French’s Yellow Mustard.

 

 

 

To prepare it I preheated the oven to 350 degrees and while that was heating up I combined tbsp. of Blue Bonnet Light Butter (Melted) , 1/2 tsp. dried onion, 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/2 tsp. Poppy Seed dressing, and 1/2 tsp. Baked Ham, Beef Salami, and Swiss Hoagie w Baked Fries 001yellow mustard. Mixed it to it was well combined, set aside. Next I took one of the Hoagie Buns and layered the Ham, Salami, and then the Swiss Cheese on the bottom half of bun, topped it with the top half of Hoagie Bun. Then poured the Poppy Seed Mixture over the Sandwich. I then took a small baking pan, sprayed it with Pam Cooking Spray and laid the Sandwich in the pan. Covered the pan with foil and baked at 350 degrees for 15 minutes then remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes to allow the rolls to crisp. Remove from oven to cool and served. Great recipe for Baked Ham and Swiss Sandwiches! The Poppy Seed Dressing Mixture that tops the Hoagie pulls everything together, all kinds of flavor! And the Beef Salami works great with Ham. I also baked some of the Ore Ida Crinkle Fries. Had some Honey Crisp Apple slices for dessert tonight.

It’s been another Beautiful day in the neighborhood outside again. A tad warmer though, we hit 80 degrees today. Went to Meijer for Mom this morning and back home. Didn’t do a lot today, not feeling up to par today. For dinner tonight I prepared a Turkey Meatball Mini Sub.

 

 

 
I used Honeysuckle White Fresh Italian Style Turkey Meatballs. I usually try to use Jennie – O Turkey Products but as far as I know none of the local stores carry the Meatballs. I’ve been using the Honeysuckle White Fresh Italian Style Turkey Meatballs for quite a few years now. The Meatballs are good size, always fresh, meaty, and have a fantastic taste and their 190 calories and 5 net carbs for 3 Meatballs. For my Pasta Sauce I used LaRosa’s Original Sauce. A local favorite and still one of the best Sauces I’ve ever had.

 

 

 
For my Hoagie Bun I used Kroger Brand 100% Whole Wheat Hoagie Rolls. For my Cheese I used Boar’s Head Lower Sodium Provolone Cheese, first time I tried this and love it! Has a really fantastic Creamy Flavor to it. Loaded the Hoagie Roll up with the Meatballs and Sauce, topped it with a slice of Provolone Cheese and baked it at 400 degrees until the the Roll was toasted and Cheese melted. These Hoagies are too good! For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Frozen Greek Yogurt.
