Today’s Menu: Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

One of Cincinnati’s favorite foods Cheese Coneys! I used Ball Park White Smoked Turkey Franks, 1 Can of Skyline Chili, French’sMustard, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (Optional), 4 Slices of Tamed Jalapeno Peppers (Chopped), Kraft 2% Shredded Sharp Cheese, and Healthy Life Hot Dog Buns. Put it all together and you have the Cincinnati Style Chili Cheese Coney. As an option you can add Chopped Onions or a side of Oyster Crackers.

For dessert/snack later some Nachos. Mom and Dad has been wanting some Nachos so that was the snack for tonight. I used Tostio’s Whole Grain Scoops, Hormel Turkey Chili w/ Beans, Sliced Black Olives, Jalapeno slices, and Kraft 2% Shredded Sharp Cheddar. Layered everything together and baked it at 350 degrees until the Cheese had melted and the Scoops were warmed, too good!

Today’s Menu: Brat Burgers and Baked Crinkle Fries

Brat Burgers?? That’s what I wondered when I ran across these at Walmart earlier today. I’m glad I did these Burgers are great! They come frozen, 6 to a box. These are big burgers, 1/3 lb. burgers! one is definitely a meal. A little high on calories at 350 and fat at 28g but the carbs are only 3g. You can grill them, broil them, or pan fry them which is the way I prepared them. Their ready in 15 – 18 minutes or until an internal temperature of 160 degrees, it was about 16 minutes. We topped them sliced Gouda or Sargento’s Reduced Fat Jack/Cheddar, French’s Golden Spicy Mustard, and Lettuce and served on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun. Thank you Johnsonville, I love these! I left a recipe from the Johnsonville web site along with the link.  For a side I baked some Ore Ida Crinkle Fries. Dessert later a Smart Ones Chocolate Brownie Fudge Sundae. These are very good and only 140 calories!

Dinner Tonight: Johnsonville Brat w/ Crinkle Fries

Wanted something easy to fix and filling. I made a Johnsonville Brat, first one in a long time! I usually have Turkey Brats but they were out of them at the store earlier so I decided to go with the Johnsonville Pork Brats. Just pan fried until brown, about 5 minutes, then added water the pan and boiled for 12 minutes. A really great tasting Brat! Served it on a Healthy Life Whole Grain Bun and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. Had Ore Ida Crinkle Fries as a side. For dessert later a Yoplait Delight 100 Calorie Chocolate Eclair Parfait.

Finally got a chance to try the Crescent Dog Recipe. Easy to fix and makes a good meal. To prepare them by the Pillsbury Recipe they are 290 calories and 13 carbs and as good as they look and sounded I wanted to knock off some of the calories. So I used Ball Park Smoked White Turkey Franks, Pillsbury Reduced Crescent Rolls, and Kraft 2% Deli Sliced Sharp Cheddar. The recipe calls for you to put a slit in the Hot Dog and insert the Cheese. Instead I used a half a piece of Sliced Cheese and placed the Dog on top of the Cheese and then wrapped them. I baked them at 375 degrees for 17 minutes. They taste fantastic! I mean what’s not to like, Turkey Franks, Crescent Rolls, and Cheese! I put a dab of French’s Yellow Mustard on it before eating. Give them a try the leaner way you’ll love them! I left the Pillsbury Recipe along with Pillsbury Link below.

Crescent Dogs

Prep Time: 10 Min
Total Time: 25 Min
Makes: 8 sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:
8 hot dogs
4 slices (3/4 oz each) American cheese, each cut into 6 strips

For a dessert/snack later tonight it will be a Aunt Millie’s Whole Grain Bagel topped with Laughing Cow Light garlic and Herb Cheese.
