Wing a Ding Wing, know Your Wings……………….

The Super Bowl Parties are being organized and most will have the almighty Chicken Wings! But do you know all the parts of a Chicken Wing? When you eat chicken wings you’re actually eating only 2/3 of the wing, since the whole chicken wing is separated into three pieces:

1 – Tip – The third joint, or bony tip of the wing (also known as the flapper). For American buffalo wings, this is usually discarded (save to use in stock). But in other parts of the world, especially East Asia, this part of the wing is a delicacy.
2 – Wingette – The second joint, or middle part of the arm (also known as a flat). These terms are descriptive, since the middle of the chicken arm looks like a very small wing. It’s flat, too.
3 – Drumette – The drumette is the upper part of the arm and looks like a miniature drumstick or leg, hence the name.

Start the game and enjoy those Wings!

Easy Stuffed Mushrooms
This healthy stuffed mushroom appetizer is a nice balance of soft mushrooms, creamy filling and crunchy topping. This combination tastes downright decadent, but it’s actually good for you. Today’s Menu: Baked Chicken Wings w/ Baked Fries and Light Texas Toast

Just a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea for Breakfast. Heavy fog this morning, couldn’t see past 1 house up or down the street. 54 degrees and sunny for the day. Went to Meijer for a few items and then stopped and picked up Breakfast for Mom. Spent the rest of the afternoon talking to my cousins who came over. Good catching up with them! For Dinner tonight its Baked Chicken Wings w/ Baked Fries and Light Texas Toast.

I’m using Kroger Oven Roasted Chicken Wings. I started by heating the oven on 425 degrees F., same temperature I’ll need for my Fries and Texas Toast. I took a small Baking Sheet and lined it with foil. Then sprayed it with Pam Non Stick Cooking Spray. Spread the Wings out across the sheet and baked them for 33 minutes, turning them once after 17 minutes. I love Wings, and these are excellent Wings! Served them with Dipping Sauces of Hidden Valley Buffalo/Ranch Dressing and Litehouse Light Blue Cheese Dressing.

With the oven already heated I baked my Fries. I used Ore Ida Crinkle Cut Fries. Like all the Ore Ida Products, they are easy to prepare and delicious. I just baked them for 19 minutes and done! Served them with a side of Hunt’s Ketchup.

I also baked up some slices of New York Bakery Light Texas Toast. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Coke Zero to drink.

Slow “Roasted” Tomatoes
There’s nothing more delicious than tomatoes roasted with tart balsamic vinegar and fragrant herbs. Before serving, remove the tomatoes from the slow cooker and be sure to allow a full ten minutes for the cheesy breadcrumb topping to soak into each savory tomato half…………

Slow-Cooker Sichuan Chicken with Scallions and Baby Bok Choy
Sichuan peppercorns give this brothy slow-cooker chicken dish a distinctive lemony, mouth-numbing flavor. Unrelated to peppercorns, they’re the dried berries of the prickly ash tree. Look for them in specialty markets and online. If you’ve never had them before, try one first and add more or less to taste. Serve with sesame baby bok choy (which takes just a few minutes to prep) and Chinese noodles for an easy, healthy dinner that’ll get you out of your same-old-chicken-dish rut………………..

Thai Chicken Wings with Peanut Sauce
Chicken wings are great for game night and a perfect appetizer for a party, but don’t get stuck in the rut of always serving BBQ wings. Add variety to game nights with this easy slow-cooker recipe for Thai wings with peanut sauce—and BBQ wings may just become a thing of the past!……….
