Today’s Menu: Toasted Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich w/ Creamy Tomato Soup

Another cloudy day out again, we need some sunshine! We had to take Dad to the Family Doctor so they could remove the staples from when he fell and injured his head. The Doc said everything looked good, he’s still real sore though. I got Mom and Dad home and went to Kroger for Mom and stopped by the bank for her. For dinner tonight, Toasted Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich w/ Creamy Tomato Soup.

PBJ and Tomato Soup 003

As I scoured the Kitchen and Pantry for an idea on what to have for dinner it was becoming obvious that it was one of those day’s where nothing sounded good. When in doubt, Simplify It! Simple dinner at its best with my dinner tonight, Toasted Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich w/ Creamy Tomato Soup.

For my PBJ Sandwich I used Jif Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter. I love Peanut Butter, always have an open jar and 1 or 2 Jars in the Pantry! I also used Polaner Sugar Free with Fiber Seedless Blackberry Preserves along with Klosterman Wheat Bread. We’ve been using Polamer Sugar Free with Fiber Seedless Blackberry Preserves for a while now, you can not tell it’s Sugar Free. I started by Toasting the Bread, taking a slice of the Toast I layered in the Jif Peanut Butter topped with Blackberry Preserves and topped with other slice of Toast. Easy, simple, and done! Nothing like a good PBJ Sandwich every now and then.

PBJ and Tomato Soup 006
Then to go with the PBJ I heated up a can of Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Soup. A microwave product, just heat for 1 minute and 30 seconds and serve. Raised on Campbell’s Soup and still love the Soups. And what’s Tomato Soup without Crackers, I used Skyline Oyster Crackers A SImple Dinner at its Best! For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Polaner Sugar Free with Fiber Seedless Blackberry Preserves

The same recipe used in the early 1900 is still used today to make this unique preserve. Blackberries hold an Polaner Sugar Free with Fiber Seedless Blackberry Preservesimmense amount of flavor in each bite. Eat it right from the jar, it’s just that good.

Polaner Sugar Free with Fiber Preserves help support a healthy digestive system. Bursting with real fruit, and sweetened with Splenda brand sweetener, they’re delicious and provide 3 grams of fiber, about 10% of your daily requirement, in every spoonful.

With just 10 calories per serving, 80% fewer than standard preserves, (and a small fraction of the calories in butter, margarine or cream cheese) you treat yourself and your family right when you serve Polaner. You’ll love it on toast and muffins, in a PB&J, or, instead of standard preserves and jellies when you bake. For the best tasting, most wholesome spreads, pick Polaner.

Today’s Menu: Toasted Ham, Turkey, and Muenster Cheese Sandwich w/ Tomato Soup

Boar's Head Ham and Turkey Muenster Cheese 007

While at Kroger the other day I was at the Deli buying some Kahn’s Bologna. When I seen the Boar’s Head Meats, and it was looking real good. So I purchased some Boar’s Head Black Forest Ham and Honey Roasted Turkey, sliced nice and thin! I love Boar’s Head Meats, always tastes fresh and lower in calories and sodium than most other cold cuts.

To make my Sandwich I’ll be using the Boar’s Head Black Forest Ham and Honey Roasted Turkey, Private Selection Sliced Muenster Cheese, Private Selection Sweet Hot Stone Ground Mustard, Kraft Reduced Fat Mayo w/ Olive Oil, and Klosterman Wheat Bread. I preheated the oven on 400 degrees. I toasted the Bread, spread the Mustard on the bottom slice of the Bread, layered the Ham, then the Turkey, Spread the Mayo on top of the Turkey, a slice of Muenster Cheese, and topped it with the other slice of Bread. Then I put my Sandwich on a small baking pan, and heated it for about 5 minutes, and served. Just describing this makes me want another Sandwich! The Ham and Turkey combo works great together, along with Muenster Cheese, and the Mustard and Mayo are perfect toppings.

Campbell's Creamy Tomato Soup

To go with my Sandwich I heated up some Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Soup. It comes in a microwavable container, just heat for 1 minute and 30 seconds and serve. For dessert later a So Delicious Vanilla Mini Ice Cream sandwich (Made with Coconut Milk).

JD Delights Ham and Cheese Soup 006

A little rain overnight, but it was in the 40’s this morning. Partly cloudy afternoon but it was in the 50’s, so not bad. Cooler weather with rain moving in though for next week. Went to kroger early for some Bread and Milk and back home for the day. Sat back and watched the NFL Football all afternoon. For dinner tonight it’s Jimmy Dean Delights Smoked Ham Sandwich w/ Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Soup.

It was a microwave dinner tonight! I tried the new Jimmy Dean Delights Smoked Ham Sandwich a while back and became an instant fan of them. It comes frozen with two slider size sandwiches. They have 2 or 3 different ones but I’m going with the Smoked Ham Sandwich tonight. It’s 2 Ham Sandwiches with Sharp Cheddar Cheese on a Pretzel Roll. It comes in a microwavable steam package. Just heat for 75 seconds and serve! The Ham, Pretzel Bun, and Cheese all tasted great and is only 290 calories for both Sandwiches. It’s definitely a good one to have in your freezer.

Campbell's Creamy Tomato Soup

Then to go with Ham and Cheese I made some Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Soup. Another microwave product, just heat for 1 minute and 30 seconds and serve. Raised on Campbell’s Soup and still love the products. So for 2 minutes and 45 seconds of microwave I had my dinner, plus no cleanup! For dessert later a Healthy Choice Dark Fudge Swirl Frozen Greek Yogurt.

Jim Dean Delight Smoked Turkey Soup 004
It was a cloudy and rainy day out today, still warm though it got up to 75 degrees. Cooler weather on the way though. Had to pick Mom up after she dropped her car off for some new tires. From there I ran her to Meijer so she could pick up a few items and back home. Besides that not much going on. I’m still enjoying this year’s crop on Washington State Honeycrisp Apples. Best year for Apples that I can remember, so big and juicy! Dinner tonight it’s Jimmy Dean Delights Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast Sandwich w/ Campbell’s Creamy Tomato Soup.

A while back I had tried the new Jimmy Dean Delights Smoked Ham Sandwich. I enjoyed it so much I went back and purchased another one and also picked up the Jimmy Dean Delights Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast Sandwich, which is what I had for dinner tonight. As the other one just microwave and it’s done. Easily fixed and delicious, plus it’s only 290 calories and 31 net carbs for 2 mini sandwiches. Topping the Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast is Applewood Smoked Bacon and Sharp Cheddar Cheese on a Honey Wheat Bun. Sounds good, it tastes even better! Jimmy Dean has another winner of a Sandwich along with the Smoked Ham Sandwich. The Bun stayed nice and fresh and all the ingredients worked perfectly and made one delicious sandwich. These are great items to have in your freezer.
