Today’s Menu: Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

 

 

For Breakfast I toasted a Healthy Life Multi Grain English Muffin, topped with a Poached Egg, and had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After I ate I went to McDonald’s and picked up Breakfast for Mom and stopped and filled the car up with gas for her. Mom went on to Church afterward. I did a load of laundry and cleaned the house. Then watched NFL Football for the rest of the afternoon. For Dinner tonight I prepared Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

 

 

 

 

We love our Cheese Coneys around here! Living here all my life here in the Cincinnati area you are raised on Cheese Coneys, Chili Spaghetti, and such. From all the classic Chili Parlors; Skyline Chili, Gold Star Chili, Camp Washington Chili, just to name a few. But having Diabetes 2, I have to watch my carbs and calories so I make mine a little healthier but keeping the incredible flavors.

 

 

 

I used Ball Park Smoked White Meat Turkey Franks, an excellent Turkey Frank! I boiled them, it took about 5 minutes and they were ready, plump, and delicious. I heated the can of Skyline Chili for my topping. I served everything on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Hot Dog Buns. Put the Frank in the Bun then topped it with French’s Yellow Mustard, the Chili, and Sargento Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese. Had a small side of some Skyline Oyster Crackers with a few drops of Frank’s Hot Sauce on them, which is a common way to have them here in the Cincinnati area. We love our Chili, Chili Dogs, Chili Spaghetti, and Hot Sauce here in the Cincinnati area. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Diet Peach Snapple to drink.

Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries

 

 

For Breakfast this morning I lightly fried a couple of al fresco Country Style Chicken Sausage Breakfast Patties. I love these, they’re fully cooked so they fry up in 6 to 8 minutes per side. One of the best Breakfast Patties I’ve found. Great seasoning and the perfect size for Breakfast Sandwiches. So I made me and Mom a couple of Breakfast Sandwiches. I also added a 1/2 a slice of Boar’s Head Vermont Cheddar to the Sandwich. What a change in weather around here. I was using my walker last night to go into another room and my leg completely went out on me and fell. I cut my knee up pretty bad and bruised both arms and the tail bone. I was lucky I didn’t get hurt worse. Real sore this morning though. We had a high of 69 degrees today. But humid and real heavy rain. They say we’ll end up with 6″ inches of rain. There will be a lot of flooded areas if we get that much. So not much to do out in the rain. Stayed in and cleaned the house today, dusted and vacuumed. Watched some College Football late afternoon. So for Dinner tonight I prepared Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries.

 

As usual I used the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. I cut the Sausage Links into Bun length pieces. I absolutely love the Butterball Hardwood Smoked Turkey Sausage. It’s got such a fantastic flavor and always cooks up just right. To prepare them I used a large skillet, added about a 1/2 tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and preheated it on medium heat. Put the Sausage in the skillet when it was heated up and covered with a lid. I turned the Sausage every few minutes to get an even char on them, cooked about 11 minutes total. As always they came out just bursting with flavor and flat-out delicious! I served it on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Hot Dog Bun and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. I love these Sausages!!

 

To go with the Sausage Dog I baked up some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. Seasoned them with Morton’s Lite salt and Ground Black Pepper. Baked them at 425 degrees for 16 minutes. They bake up beautifully and seasoned just right.! Plus they are only 120 calories and 15 net carbs. Served with a side of my favorite Ketchup, Hunt’s Ketchup. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn with a Peach Diet Snapple to drink.

Today’s Menu: Bluegrass Deliciously Lean Mettwursts  (Dinner yesterday, failed to post)

 

 

 

For Breakfast I toasted a Thomas 100 Calorie Light Whole Grain English Muffin. The I heated up a an al fresco Chicken Sausage Pattie and made a Breakfast Sandwich. Also had a cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. I had to be at my Eye Checkup at 8:45, one of my least favorite things to do. I hate being poked and prodded but with Diabetes 2 I have to have a yearly check. Outside its partly cloudy with passing rain showers, 87 degrees and humid. Back home not a lot going on today so I took easy, my allergies are running wild today. I prepared a couple of Bluegrass Deliciously Lean Mettwursts for Dinner tonight.

 

 

I had purchased a couple of packages of the Bluegrass Lean Mettwurst while at Jungle Jim’s International Market last week. I had kept one package out that I had been having for Lunch and froze the remaining package.

 

 

 

 

 

To prepare them I used a medium size skillet that I sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray and added the Metts. I then added water to the pan, just enough water to cover about a 1/4 of Metts. Turned the heat on medium and covered the pan. I turned the Metts frequently to get a nice even cook on them. When the water had boiled down I cooked them an extra 3 minutes to brown them. They turned out fantastic, nice and meaty! Plus being the Bluegrass Lean type , just 1/2 the calories of other Metts. I served them on Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Hot Dog Buns and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. A couple of Metts was plenty for Dinner tonight. For Dessert/Snack later a bowl of Skinny Pop – Pop Corn and a Diet Mango Snapple to drink.

After Breakfast I took Mom to Jungle Jim’s International Market, the Grocery Store of all Grocery Stores! Not much else going on today. For Dinner tonight I prepared Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

Today’s Menu: Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries

I had the wooden deck repaired a while back and my neighbor came over did some touch up painting for me this afternoon. It’s another hot and humid day out again, 99 degrees. Later on I went through my closet and dresser gathering up some clothes that were too small or I just didn’t wear anymore. I then took them to the local Goodwill Store. I also gave them Dad’s old clothes and some things that my Mom had gathered up also. So for Dinner tonight I prepared Smoked Turkey Sausage Dogs w/ Baked Fries.

Today’s Menu: Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

 

 

For Breakfast I toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin and topped with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter. I also made my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. After Breakfast I went to McDonald’s and picked up Breakfast for Mom. Mom went to Church and spent most of the day doing some laundry and cleaning the house. For Breakfast I toasted a couple of slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread, Scrambled a couple of Eggs, and made my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Cloudy and 75 degrees out today. After Breakfast we went up to spend time with Dad. I was up there about 2 hours but he was sleeping for most of the time. He wasn’t feeling up to par today. Back home I got the 4 wheel cart out of the shed and sprayed for weeds. A whole lot of weeds this year. For Dinner tonight I prepared Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

Today’s Menu: Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage w/ Baked Shoestring Fries

 

To start my morning off I toasted a Healthy Life Whole Grain English Muffin that I topped with Smucker’s Sugar Free Blackberry Jam. I also had my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. It was in the low 30’s this morning when I went out to fetch the morning papers. It was cloudy and mid 40’s out for the day then. Mostly cloudy and a high of 50 degrees today. We need some bright sunny days around here, these cloudy and gray days are getting old! After Breakfast I headed to Meijer for a few items. Then picked up Breakfast for Mom at McDonald’s. After Lunch we headed up to see Dad for a while. He’s not doing good at all, the Dementia is advancing quickly now. For Dinner tonight I prepared a Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage w/ Baked Shoestring Fries.

 

I used the healthy and delicious Jennie O Lean Sweet Italian Turkey Sausages. I had a package of two in the freezer so I let them thaw overnight in the fridge. I pan fried them, using Pam w/ Olive Oil Cooking Spray and no oil needed. Heated the pan on medium and cooked a total of about 17 minutes, turning the Sausages occasionally. They fry up plump and brown, as always Jennie – O Products always have that fresh taste to them. The Sausages have 160 calories and 0 carbs per Sausage. I served it on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Whole Grain Bun and topped with French’s Spicy Brown Mustard. Love these, thank you Jennie – O!

 


Then for a side I baked some Alexia Organic Yukon Select Fries. The more I have these the more I’m liking them! Seasoned them with McCormick Grinder Sea Salt and Black Peppercorn Medley. Baked them at 425 degrees for 18 minutes. They bake up beautifully and seasoned just right, excellent Shoestring Fry! Plus they are only 120 calories and 15 net carbs. For dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

Today’s Menu: Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys

 

 

For Breakfast I toasted a couple of slices of Aunt Millie’s Light Whole Grain Bread, Scrambled a couple of Eggs, heated up a couple of Johnsonville Turkey Breakfast sausage Links, and made my morning cup of Bigelow Decaf Green Tea. Mostly sunny and 49 degrees today. So the few inches of snow we got yesterday is quickly melting. Hospice came at 11:00 today and took Dad over to a rehab center here in West Chester for 5 days. Hospice suggested we do this so as to give us a bit of break. We are currently looking for a center for Dad too stay in. His Dementia and overall health has become so bad we can no longer keep him here. It breaks are heart but it’s for the best. For Dinner tonight I prepared Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

 


I wasn’t in the mood to put a lot of effort in to cooking a big meal. Mom said Cheese Coneys sounded good so that’s what I prepared for us. I love my Cheese Coneys! Living here all my life here in the Cincinnati area you are raised on Cheese Coneys, Chili Spaghetti, and such. From all the classic Chili Parlors; Skyline Chili, Gold Star Chili, Camp Washington Chili, just to name a few. But having Diabetes 2 I have to watch my carbs and calories so I make mine a little healthier but keeping the incredible flavors.

 

I used Ball Park Smoked White Meat Turkey Franks, an excellent Turkey Frank! I boiled them, it took about 5 minutes and they were ready, plump, and delicious. I heated the can of Skyline Chili for my topping. I served everything on a Aunt Millie’s Reduced Calorie Hot Dog Buns. Put the Frank in the Bun then topped it with French’s Yellow Mustard, the Chili, and Sargento Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Shredded Cheese. Had a small side of some Skyline Oyster Crackers with a few drops of Frank’s Hot Sauce on them, which is a common way to have them here in the Cincinnati area. We love our Chili, Chili Dogs, Chili Spaghetti, and Hot Sauce here in the Cincinnati area. For Dessert later a Jello Sugar Free Dark Chocolate Pudding topped with Cool Whip Free.

A lot of rain overnight and into the morning. I had a long night again with dealing with some very bad phantom Pains. Didn’t get a lot sleep so with the dreary day outside I caught up on some sleep. For Dinner tonight I prepared Turkey Frank Cincinnati Style Cheese Coneys.

 

 

I love my Cheese Coneys! Living here all my life here in the Cincinnati area you are raised on Cheese Coneys, Chili Spaghetti, and such. From all the classic Chili Parlors; Skyline Chili, Gold Star Chili, Camp Washington Chili, just to name a few. But having Diabetes 2 I have to watch my carbs and calories so I make mine a little healthier but keeping the incredible flavors.
