Double Chocolate Brownies
Applesauce replaces part of the fat, sweetener all of the sugar, plus you get double the chocolate flavor with both cocoa and chocolate chips—so who can resist these delicious brownies?
Recipe Ingredients:
6 tablespoons stick butter, softened
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup Equal® Spoonful*
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cooking Directions:
1 – Beat butter, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla until blended. Stir in combined flour, Equal®, chocolate chips, cocoa, baking powder and salt until blended.
2 – Spread batter in sprayed 8-inch square baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven 18 to 20 minutes or until top springs back when gently touched. Cool completely on wire rack. Cut into squares.
3 – Store in airtight container at room temperature.
Makes 16 brownies.
*May substitute 24 packets Equal sweetener.

APPLE-MUSTARD MEAT LOAF
Recipe Yield: 8
Ingredients
2 Pounds Ground Pork
1/2 Cup Applesauce
1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs
1 1-Oz Envelope Dry Onion Soup Mix
2 Tablespoons Dijon-Style Mustard
Black Pepper, To Taste
Directions
1 – In large mixing bowl, blend together ground pork, applesauce, breadcrumbs, onion soup mix, Dijon-style mustard and black pepper to taste.
2 – Turn mixture into loaf pan and bake in 375 degrees F oven for 1 hour 15 minutes, until meat thermometer inserted reads 160F.
3 – Let loaf rest 10 minutes before slicing to serve.

Avocado Turkey Burger
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 (16-ounce) package Jennie-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast
2 teaspoons no-salt seasoning
5 small whole wheat buns
5 slices light Cheddar cheese
1 avocado, peeled and diced
Directions
1 – Drain applesauce in a strainer to eliminate excess liquid. Mix ground turkey, applesauce and no-salt seasoning.
2 – Form mixture into 5 patties. Cook patties according to package directions. Always cook to well-done, 165F as measured by a meat thermometer.
3 – Place burgers on bun bottoms. Top with cheese and avocado. Cover with bun top.
Always cook to an internal temperature of 165F.

Apple Cheesecake
Autumn means apples, and that is just what this cheesecake offers. Applesauce and apple pie spices provide the fall flavors, Equal the sweetness.
Crust:
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup stick butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons Equal® Spoonful*
Cheesecake:
2 (8-ounce each) packages reduced fat cream cheese, softened
1 cup Equal® Spoonful**
1 2/3 cups unsweetened applesauce
2 whole eggs
2 egg whites
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup reduced fat sour cream
Cooking Directions:
1 – For Crust: Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and 2 tablespoons Equal®. Press mixture onto bottom and 1-inch up side of a 9-inch springform pan.
2 – Bake in preheated 375°F oven 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack while preparing cheesecake.
3 – For Cheesecake: Beat cream cheese and 1 cup Equal® in mixing bowl on medium speed of mixer until smooth and well combined. Mix in applesauce, eggs, egg whites and lemon juice until blended. Stir in cornstarch, cinnamon, apple pie spice and vanilla. Fold in sour cream until combined.
4 – Pour cheesecake mixture over baked crust. Bake in preheated oven 60 to 65 minutes or until center of cake is almost set. Cool on wire rack. Gently run metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake. Let cheesecake cool completely. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving. To serve, remove side of pan. Cut cake into wedges.
Makes 16 servings.
