Let it sit……………………………

Take your steak out of the fridge about 20 minutes before grilling to bring it to room temperature. A freezing-cold steak won’t cook evenly.Once your steak is off the grill, wait at least 5 minutes before slicing. This gives the juices a chance to settle back into the meat.

Kick up your Vegetarian recipes…………………

A bit of grated Parmesan cheese goes a long way. Why not also try to cut of few slices of brie in your tomato spaghetti, or some goat cheese melted on toast to accompany your summer salad.

Braising Meats……………………..

Heavily marbled meat is the best for braising. Look for lamb or pork shoulders or shanks, beef chuck roasts, or briskets. They have plenty of fat to keep the meat juicy and tons of collagen that will break down into gelatin and give a rich, silky texture.

Cleaning your Microwave………………………

Clean a microwave faster and easier by nuking 2 cups water in a microwave safe vessel for 2 minutes then wiping down the insides with a clean cloth. Add a wedge or two of lemon to the water for some real cleaning power!

Home made Bread Crumbs…………………

Make your own dried breadcrumbs by grating stale bread on the coarse side of a grater, then spread the crumbs in a thin layer over a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes at 275 degrees, giving them a good shake halfway through. The golden, crispy crumbs will last in a sealed container for up to two weeks.

Freeze Bread for Toast……………….

Take your favorite bakery loaf, slice half of it, and wrap the other half in plastic. Put both in a gallon freezer bag in your freezer. Grab slices and toast straight from frozen as needed, then thaw the second half of the loaf and repeat. Have Toast all the time!
